Another two former Panthers on this year's HOF Ballot.

bulk of both careers were played elsewhere (neither are HOF worthy but that ain't the question)

I think we will have to either draft a kid or have a Delhomme type discovery for someone to qualify one day.

So Sam Mills would not be considered a true Hall of Fame Panther for us if he ever made it? Right?

probably not.

i just don't see davis or key making it. key might just because he played for a team that got a ring and he was a cowboy for a while. he's got a lot fo name recognition going for him as well.

davis...meh...not so much. if he did go in, it might be as a panther, tho. he retired as one so that might be where his heart is, but i don't know if that is how it works.

I wonder though, didn't Davis retire a Panther? Probably won't get in but since he retired a Panther wouldn't he also choose to go in the HOF a Panther?

Sam Mills WOULD go in as a Panther. He would go in as a Saint as well, but also a Panther. A player entering the HoF is a celebration of their career, not just a pat on the butt to the GM that drafted them. Mills had some of his best year's here and became the first face of the franchise, among all the other things he did for us. I'm not taking away what he did as a Saint, but to say Mills wouldn't want to be identified as a Panther is silly. We already know that Stephen Davis would.

No, he played somewhere else, but I do not remember where. Also, I think the whole choosing thing is a myth. If you go to the HoF, the bust's are listed along with all the teams that the player played for. I believe the NFL does it on purpose to avoid that kind of controversy (that said, davis has already said he loved being a Panther most of all, and was obviously a coaching assistant here)

    • We don't have to tear down Dak to appreciate what Bryce did yesterday. Dak had 0 running game. If the cowboys were better, he'd be a legit MVP candidate if he keeps playing this way.  They did it with Ceedee last year, but they do a better job of anybody we play consistently of getting their best receiver off Jaycee.  Bryce was good too. If we just catch the ball that was intercepted, we probably win by 7+, and Bryce goes over 200 yards passing.  Biggest shift the last few weeks has been play calling. I thought Canales abandoned the run game way to early at times last year. This year he really seems to be sticking with it.  I still think Chuba is better at making 4 yards when there's nothing there, but Rico is better at making 30 yards when there's 6 there. I like the direction. Hopefully we can get Moton, Sanders and Coker back and really be dangerous. Our play action game is pretty deadly right now.  Unrelated: My favorite quality about Bryce right now is his ability to see the defensive hold and throw the ball there. He EXPOSES the officials when they don't call it. That one on Tetaroia yesterday late in the game was a bad miss on their part.
    • That sacks allowed number lookin juicy!
    • This is a game the Panthers should win... just the sort of game they lose. The Panthers have a bad habit that goes back years of playing down to the competition's level only to mess around and lose the game. The Jets game should be taken very seriously! But I want to enjoy the fact that they beat the Cowboys for at least another day or so!
