Looks like there's bad blood between Rivera and Lovie Smith

Bad blood or not, I guarantee you that Rivera and Olsen both want to beat Chicago very very badly. I'm sure the Panthers FO would love to hand Peppers a loss as well. There definitely should be some bad blood for that one because nobody in that FO or on that coaching staff wanted Peppers to leave.

I'm glad Rivera and Olsen want to win "very very badly". That increases their chances from most games where they only want to win "very badly".

Well of course they want to win every game, but you're pretty naive if you don't think there are some games that are more personal to some coaches and players than others. Whether Rivera has a problem with Lovie or not, it's always personal when a coach or player goes against their former team. It may not guarantee the outcome they want, but it's there and you all know it.

If there was no bad blood between Rivera and Lovie then why does Rivera say that the game vs the bears "is personal". No coach ever says a game is personal unless there was some real bad blood going on between them.

Funny that his quote says it wasn't personal.

"I've said it before, this was all football,'' Rivera said. "As long as it's not a personal thing or issue like that, it's all football business. We just go on about our business and do the things we do. I'm looking forward to it. I really am. Plus there were some guys that were there when I was there. Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Chris Harris is back. These are super guys. Roberto Garza. These are guys that I've gotten to know and I was with for a while. The coaching staff, I still know a lot of those guys there.''
