The Mr Scot John Fox Thread

Occurs to me that it might not be a bad idea to have any and all discussion of John Fox centralized in a single thread. Up to the mods whether they agree or not, but that's my take.

Here's the latest from Denver: The Golden Calf of Bristol package limited to one snap against Packers

"That, we did it once and we lost yardage," Fox said. "That wasn't all on him by any stretch, but it didn't prove to be beneficial, so we went in a different direction"

So..one play was enough to judge by. Gotcha

(heck, Randy Fasani got more chances than that)

Caught a bit of last week's presser. Fox pulled out "the other team practices too" for that one

I actually thought we could save space, bandwidth, and brainpower by creating a simple:

"Will John Fox Make It To A Second Year In Denver?" thread.

Which is why I came to the NFL Central forum, lol. I think that would get at what all of our bitter fans are dancing around in the repeated "John Fox sucks balls" type threads.

And honestly, I'm starting to think that he won't make it past this year. As passionate as that fanbase is, they're not going to accept his shoulder shrugging style for long, and on top of that, they want The Golden Calf of Bristol and Fox isn't going to give that to them. He showed that renowned stubbornness against GB as they were getting blown out by 28 points or so with 5 mins left in the game and he left Orton in, just to prove his point.

I appreciate what he did when he came here, but it's just becoming more and more evident, he is an NFL dinosaur.

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
