The recent signings looks to be for filling up ST. I'm glad RR isn't wasting time with guys who can't tackle. I would guess a lot more movement after the saints game too. Hopefully he finds the right chemistry and combo of players to start winning this year.

If they are looking to replace STs players, I would recommend starting with BAKER!

Dude, does the ST Coach REALLY have to tell you...after the man not long before ran a kick back 90+ yards only to be stopped in the Cat's Red Zone...NOT TO KICK THE BALL TO DEVIN HESTER?!

When asked why/how he kicked that low-flying duck to Hester, he said he decided to try to kick the ball soccer-style, end over end to make it more difficult for Hester to catch the ball. 1st Mistake was deciding to kick the ball to Hester. 2nd mistake was deciding on the fly to try something new, to put a 'spin' on the ball to make it hard for him to catch. How'd that work out for ya?

Yeah, ST players can be blamed for poor tackling, but Baker set them up for failure with his dumb@ss decisions in that kick to Hester. The ST coach also has to take some blame. While he was probably thinking Baker was smart enough to pick up the idea NOT to kick to Hester on his own and thus required no need to tell him not to do so, It's his team...and HIS team committed that FUBAR.

In the Immortal words of John Wayne: "Life is hard; It's harder if you're stupid."

Baker....Kicking to Hester was just plain stupid.

:iamwithstupid:

Still, and always, a Cats Fan, though!

The coach wanted him to kick to Hester, he just didn't get the kick they wanted. He was asked to do a rugby style, knuckling, high kick, he didn't get the hang time they wanted. Rivera said as much in his presser. It wasn't Bakers idea to kick to Hester.

It sure is sad that you can't contribute to a general discussion. I've been on the huddle since 2006 and there really seems to be no ability to have decent discussions without uncalled for comments. This site has always had its share of sarcastic people but now its as if many huddlers aren't hear to chat and discuss the panthers. They are more interested in trying to be witty with there gifs, pics and moronic comments. But hey thanks for the input buddy.

I'm not going to say IMO that kicking to Hester wasn't stupid, but with that being said it's not Baker's fault. He was just doing as the coaches told him. He has been the best player on the team the past 2 years, haha

Go to Panthers.com and watch Ron Rivera's press conference. It was the coaching staff's decision to kick the ball to Hester not Baker's. He was told to kick it "rugby style" to him not soccer style. It was not Baker's decision.

Please know what you are talking about before making yourself sound really dumb. 2 guys had him down but Hester busted straight through them. How could you possibly blame that on Baker? He did his job. You sound so dumb. It bothers me so bad when people talk out of their booties on here.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
