I didn't see as many Vick jerseys as I thought I would. Saw a few Peppers and Mushin jerseys.

Generally speaking, the crowd I was with was relatively entertaining:

* a ton of Auburn fans there to cheer on Cam

* one proud Falcon-cheering dad with his 1 or 2-year-old son who was proudly wearing a Cam panthers jersey. I motioned over to him, with a "what the hell, Dad?" kinda thing and a big smile/thumbs up towards the kid. Dude laughed, shrugged his shoulders and indicated that it wasn't his choice what the kid wore. Pretty funny to me.

* A larger Panthers contingent than I've seen in the past 4 years or so, making the trek down I-85. Kudos to them.

Yeah, the game kinda sucked, but there are enough other threads to talk about that.

From where I was sitting, I saw a ton of open/empty seats throughout the game. And they call themselves local fans, too.

The good: Lots of Panthers fans stuck through to the final seconds of the game, while the fair-weather Falcon fans were migrating out in the middle of the third quarter so they don't get caught in traffic (boo-hoo!).

The funny: the customary post-game shout-out, "have fun on that four-hour drive back to Carolina!". My reply, "Dude, I live here -- I'll be home before you leave the parking lot!" Their response: "have fun on that 10-minute walk back home!"

The bad: the obnoxious Falcon fans blaring their car horns and shouting out their windows to any Panther jersey they saw. You're cheering that much/that excited because the Falcons beat a team that's only won one game this year? Yeah, good for you.
