So when can we start talking draft in this forum?

Why do you want a safety?

D-Line>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> secondary

He was asking who he was. I still don't think we go D-line in the draft. The reason why is Ron Edwards will be back next year. You also have to look at Fua and Mcclain will have a year under their built. I can really see us going LB,CB, and WR.

DT outweighs all needs, but I'm of the opinion that we just need to go ahead and sign whatever the best DT is on the market... It's like WR, Hurney can't find them, so sign one that's already proven.

I was just asking about the guy because he's all over the place.

Honestly, LB and DT are my biggest areas of need, with DT having the HUGE edge, and then WR. CB could be addressed as well if there is a can't miss guy available.

I'm flummoxed what to do in the draft if Hurney stays. This is a top-heavy draft for the offense and we are desperate for a defensive playmaker. But if we trade down, that will just give Hurney even more picks to F up. I'm liking Brandon Thompson right now. Don't want a receiver.

Well, that's awesome. At least we have three top LBs locked up... Wait, one that's healthy.

Oh well, at least we have one of the top RBs in the league locked up... that we don't use.

Mmm... Charles Johnson, amirite???

So how much cap would we have? Hurney sucks ass.

I agree the 1st round pick should be used at one of those 3 postions. The DT postion can be filled through FA. But please tell me why in crap are you and other people talking Ron Edwards up so much as if he has done something for this team already. The guy ain't even play a down yet for us and people on here acting like he is great or something. There is no telling if edwards will be any good or not. I wheather see the panthers go to FA in the offseason and go after a much better vet DT who is a run stuffer and is proven aswell.

Cool story bro, you plan on increasing our cap to allow for such nonsense?

    • This fan base and being cool with mediocrity is infuriating. Making excuses for billionaires who had no business imploding a franchise and making us the Browns of the South.  Good on you man being a glass half full kind of person, I am not. I have zero faith in Tepper "evolving" and quoting Morgan in saying they been easy to work with is not any evidence of that actually happening. I'm sure if I go back and watch Fitt, Rhule and Reich pressers they said the same b.s. towing the line jargon to appease their boss. Stuff like, O they've been great, such great collaboration or some crap. Give me wins that is the ONLY analysis I need to judge are clown of an owner.....
    • You're equating wins with evolving, but It's a little more complex than that. This will be the new managment's third season. It will also be the third season where the Teppers have taken a step back. If you think that the only way to measure improvements due to seeming changes for the better is wins and losses after only two years--one being a playoff berth, "limping" in there or not, then perhaps you're being more emotional. By most analysts' measure, Dan Morgan has the Panthers moving in the right direction. He can only get us to where we need to be with the blessing and cooperation from the owners. He has said several times now, that they are easy to work with. Rhule, Reich and Fitterer did not say that. In fact, you could literally see the pressure put upon them by their countenance.  Bottom line: it has been reported that they have changed and everything that we've seen (and not seen) is indicative of that belief. We were a playoff team, and we had a good showing. With the moves that have been made this offseason, and last offseason to be honest, NFL types are expecting the Panthers to compete for the division the upcoming season, and that's even before the draft. This is all with a QB that is still a question mark.  Rome wasn't built in a day. David Tepper has seemed to internalize that, and now many fans need to appreciate the same. It could be argued that we didn't have any business winning the games we did in '24 or '25, much less make the playoffs this past season. A positive transition appears to be afoot. We are close to becoming a perennial contender, and that's thanks to a developing culture change that is being allowed to happen. This was not the case when the Teppers, particularly David, were fumbling around trying to figure out how to run an NFL franchise.
    • Dude is a beast on ST. I like the emphasis on special teams with him and Simmons.
