Byron Bell is not as good as Otah at all.

seriously....we need to scrap this thinking.

i don't care how much of a beast otah is when healthy. it doesn't matter because he isn't healthy. he's hurt more often that not and he misses more games than he plays in. when he comes back from injury he's always trying to play catch up and when he finally gets caught up he gets hurt....AGAIN!

otah is worthless.

Nobody was saying Thomas Davis was worthless at the start of the season........

Otah is a beast. He is also a very large human......with injury issues. When he gets ont he field he is the complete opposite of worthless.

Thats funny... When the guy handled Clay pretty good... I heard how good he was for a rook on here but after Edwards ate his lunch in the 2nd half.... Edwards suck and he is not that good...lol

I've been saying for weeks all the people gushing over Bell on this forum are delusional. The Panthers hardly ran to his side against ATL unless it was an outside run with a guard pulling. They have zero confidence in him as a run blocker. And clearly he doesn't have the speed to handle a pass rusher on the road when the defense can get a quick jump. Otah's injuries woes suck, but fans are stupid enough to pull against guys like Otah instead of hoping he gets it together.

Where was this when he handled Clay Mathews? Bell had one off game, ya'll act like he's been the starter since the beginning and you're calling for Otah now..Come on...

How did he handle Matthews? So far, the Carolina game has been Clays best game as a pass rusher this year.

He had a total of eight Qb disruptions (sacks, pressures etc) Bell was responsible for five of those.

Bell had a horrific game yesterday, but Bell is about 80% of what, a first round pick, Otah is at his best. Otah can't touch the field. Even Cam has had bad games as a rookie. Strange with all of the hate. I focus in on OL during games (b/c the skill players can be seen at any point), Otah is not all that...esp. against the pass. If he could ever get his sorry butt on the field you would see.

I'm the first to say Otah can play well, but he is as inconsistent as Bell & this is Bell's second full game in the NFL ever....as an UFA! I really am for sticking with Bell & getting him soem reps. A player is no value to a team if he can't play. Otah's weakness at not playing thru injuries is just sad for a man of his size & power.

    • Bryce has been in the NFL 3 years and still looks like a very mediocre QB. Most games are nothing but mediocre plays with a highlight reel every now and then.  He is a very INCONSISTENT QB and it’s very fustrating. He does not deserve a 5th year option, even though the Panthers and all the dumb asses in the front office will give it to him.
    • I’ve rarely ever been more sure of anything than losing out — but how can anyone say with a straight face “Bryce hasn’t improved, but Canales has and he’s masks his flaws”. You have to be so out of touch with reality to put one way above the other when discussing those two.
    • Last night was the classic example of a visiting team just holding on through the wave of emotion a home team has at the start of a big time game. Bama’s first two kickoff returns really set them back as far as playcalling and allowed OU to dictate field position. The emotion of the home crowd fed into what OU was doing at that point, and it felt like Bama would not be able to overcome that.     Once the kickoff returner was told to fair catch every kick, the game shifted, as Bama wasn’t starting each drive inside their own 15. It was then that Bama was able to make some plays, outscoring OU 34-7 the rest of the way.  I think the last 3/4 of the game proves Bama was the better team. OU was just able to ride the initial wave of emotion to a big lead, but Bama held on just enough.  However, had OU blocked the punt on Bama’s second drive and scored a TD (vice a FG on the ensuing drive), things likely would have been different.  Anyway, Roll Tide!
