/r/nfl trying to say Dalton deserves RoTY over Newton

Speaking of which, in the the thread which I originally posted, the voting by a cross-section of fans from every NFL team seems to favor Newton by around a 3-1 margin, with someone's mega-post defending Newton getting the most votes by far.

That's because they aren't looking at stats. They are looking at the reality of who each team is facing and what each QB is up against.

Also, techincally Dalton only actually won one game than Cam cause he didn't outright win his teams first game. The back-up QB and the team did. Which again, tells the true story of why Dalton is doing so good. He is on a very good TEAM...Dalton was out the first half of the game because he had a hand injury. He had only thrown 1 td, for 81 yds then left the first half. That means the TEAM along with their back-up QB came together and pulled out a 27-17 victory over the Browns. That's right, the Bengals helped their back-up QB take the team to their first season victory.

Amazing what happens when a team's philosphy is to help their QB instead of feeling it's the QB's job to work three times harder than the rest of the team so they can win. And he better not make any mistakes.

Maybe some of the parts of the Panthers team may be better than the Bengals but it's clear to see that no matter who's at QB, the Bengals play as a team and play to win...What a novel idea....team helping QB to win games...hmmmm

The Bengals trade of Palmer will put Dalton in the spotlight more now and more people will notice him, to his advantage or detriment.

they will say, "he is doing a great job, even to the point of trading an all pro QB in his favor, and now they have a couple extra first rounders to help build the future on this little known second rounder"

makes for great pub in ESPN. Bet in a week, the poll between Cam and Dalton will be at least even.

Damn, I now see why there is a thread labeled "Cam Sucks" on one of the Cincinnatti Bengals fansites. In the meantime, I couldn't find one thread that was started for Andy...

Seems like almost every team have some kind of negative thread dedicated to Cam. I even stumbled upon a White Supremacy sports web-site, where many where strongly rooting for Blaine. And Yes, they had their Cam Newton hate thread...Sadly, a lot of the stuff that was being said wasn't to much different that what I've been reading on these other fansites but at least they weren't trying to hide why they hate Cam...

I'm sure Dalton will pull even with Cam. If for nothing else but to make sure Cam doesn't win..:o)

most people will say, Dalton is winning unlike Cam, but you have to look at what he has to what we have. he has a coach who has been in the league for years, a defense that has been playing great, Benson isnt bad either, has young recievers like Green and Simpson and of course his schedule has been easier. he's beaten the Bills (after they played the patroits, so that was a letdown waiting to happen), his backup QB beat the Browns, he beat the Jaguars, and the Colts. How about looking at his one key loss. he lost by 2 to the Broncos.

Yeah, I see ur logic. Interstingly enough, the Panthers have played well against tougher teams. But seem to lose step with teams they should be able to beat.

Cam/The Golden Calf of Bristol are a lot a like. Cam has a much better arm, but they both have similar games and are very polarizing athletes. You either like the guy or you don't. Some panther fans I know don't like Cam because of what he did to their Alma mater LY. A few friends I have who are non-religious/atheist/agnostic don't like The Golden Calf of Bristol for said reasons.

I still don't know why any carolina fans are talking about Luck. SMH.

Every time I think you are going to make a valid point you go and do something like this. Grow up dude. You talk more about racial issues/racism than anyone on this board X100. I'm not going to deny that fact that there probably is a very,very microscopic fraction of fans who don't like Cam because he is black, but they are few and far between. It's like you assume we all have uncles in the KKK or something lol.

I don't know you, but I'd be willing to bet that you believe there is an ulterior motive when you have to wait to longer than five minutes for a table at a busy restaurant.

I wouldn't want any young QB over Cam right now but that doesn't mean I am incapable of seeing the merit in another player's game.
