Well from our discussion in our other thread, be careful....if Cam keeps throwing behind the line of scrimmage you might just get your wish. Personally I don't wanna see that anymore. I'd rather Cam complete 30% of his passes trying to get some yards than be at 80% while keep throwing these brain farts.

If there has ever been a bigger insult to our running game, and our two start RBs, it's these throws behind the line of scrimmage that get us 2-3 yards.

Cam needs to kill those yesterday.

Is this a claim that Cam throws short too much and downfield not enough? If it is, it's a strange argument.

No. Is this where you take something and spin it into something completely different?

OK, I obviously misunderstood your claim that he needs to stop throwing behind the line of scrimmage and your claim that it would be better to complete 30% while actually trying to gain some yards instead of 80% throwing these brain farts. I took that to mean he was completing a high percentage because he was settling for too many safe throws, often behind the line. That's obviously not true, so maybe you just articulated your point in a way that made it sound like that's what you were saying.

Can you honestly be this oblivious?

I was just being hypothetical with the numbers to give an example. There's only been a few, but I'm saying they all need to stop period. Even though there's only a few. There may be only 1-2 a game but they've usually been in really bad long down situations and they are always unsuccessful.

I think his tendency to continue to be a passing QB first has worked against him at times. He's held the ball for far too long, and then dumped it off short. He could have instead ran it himself for much better gain in some of those situations. He doesn't need to shy away from getting us yards with his legs if they're there and the passing options are bad.

He still hasn't quite figured this out yet. He's gotten a bit better but he's still not comfortable figuring out when to take off.

True, this is one of the things he can improve on. But the passing game as a whole has been pretty good on 3rd downs and Cam doesn't have nearly the same propensity to throw 3 yard passes on 3rd and 10 we saw last year.
