double standard

there is a double standard on this board.

When the defense makes mistakes, bash them all you want.

When the offense/cam makes mistakes, deflect.

I realize the defense is hurting. I realize the expectations for the defense was much higher than what we're seeing.

Last game, both offense and defense played well..until the 3rd quarter. The defense started allowing big run plays, and the offense couldn't get a first down.

On top of it, i see majority of fans calling for mare's head, when the game never should have come down to a kick to TIE the game.

You guys enjoy your double standards.

Not a double standard, since Cam said the same thing you said: the offense should not have gone three and out in the 3rd repeatedly.

To be fair, however, the defense has been clearly behind the offense all year, and the special teams have been even worse.

i said this board..not cam. Cam knows what the hell is going on. It's the majority of the fan base that is to busy being biased for there to be any real conversation.

Nobody on here expected the defense the contain/stop AP. In the first half, that's what they did. Our defense played out of their minds, and game the team a better chance than they've had in other games, and the offense sputtering hurt.

Who allowed the lead? Defense. Its been the same story all year, offense puts points on the board then the defense fugs it up and we start to play 'catch-up' there was no reason to make a rookie qb look like Tom Brady when passing.

ahhh, my favorite idiot. Where ya been?

Ya do know cam fumbled twice, leading to 14 points?

Did the offense continue to put points up, or even take time off the clock while the defense was giving up the lead? Lol

The defense played better than anyone is giving them credit for.

Hence the double standard.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
