Can't believe no one is talking about

As far as discussing the play itself, the result was great, but should you really be fielding a punt at your own 2 yard line in an overtime game when your offense has already given up 2 safeties?

When you are a playmaker and a winner you just make plays for your team to win games, it's simple. No matter what you do all game, you come in at the end and make plays.

It's not how you start, it's how you finish. PP7 knows this and his team is 2 wins better because of it.

Not insecure... I did say "I hope" did you miss that?

A lot of people (me included) thought that PP should have been the pick... I was/we were wrong.... big time.

PP has made some big plays on STs, but is nothing special so far at CB.

Cam has fuged it up for every other rookie. Trial by fire usually doesn't go this well for rookies. Give him some time to adjust to bigger, faster, smarter receivers then see how he does in a few years. I don't remember hearing anything about Revis or Nnamdi their rookie years either.

...

I don't know why people keep thinking that posts in the NFL forum about other players somehow always relate back to Cam.

Happens all the time. Happened to me in the Pitt/Balt thread last night. I made a comment that i believe Dalton will beat the Steelers next week and all of a sudden Cam Cam Cam Cam.

But you and me are the trollers...

If you have more interceptions than offensive TDs, you are a defensive player.

Actually that's not true at all. Stats don't dictate what your primary role on a team is. Granted, it helps the team determine where you may be better suited once those stats are stabilized by the length of time you've played. However, your position is defined by the team's depth chart and where you spend the primary amount of your time.

Patrick has gone straight beast mode a few times this year. Regardless of his performance at CB, this is a very dangerous x-factor to have on your team. I love seeing these rookies making a difference early in their careers. To bring this up is less a shot at Cam than a testament to just how strong this draft class may have been.

    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
