Penn State...what did Paterno know?

That's One Horrible Game of Telephone

According to the grand jury, then, here is how McQueary's eyewitness account became watered down at each stage:

McQueary: anal rape.

Paterno: something of a sexual nature.

Schultz: inappropriately grabbing of the young boy's genitals.

Curley: inappropriate conduct or horsing around.

Spanier: conduct that made someone uncomfortable.

Raykovitz: a ban on bringing kids to the locker room.

I don't how much you guys listen to WFNZ, but I listen to it a lot (until I get sirius/xm). There is a guy who calls the shows a lot by the name of "Steeler Mark"......he usually calls and offers his expert critique on why the panthers are so awful and will never be as good as the steelers. He really grinds my gears and is probably one of the worst sports talk callers in the history of the world.

He called Wednesday and made one of the most idiotic, arrogant, and ignorant remarks I've ever heard on a radio show. He said that Marc & Taylor (the hosts of the drive) should ask every caller with an opinion on Joe Pa what team they pull for. He said that people just want to punish PSU football and paterno because they were big 10 fans of other schools. You don't get the real ignorance of his opinion without hearing it. I had to change the dial. Absolutely disgusting. I heard that WFNZ banned him from calling the show because of it.

Yeah, on one of the talk shows this morning they were interviewing the president of a Penn St. Alumni group (Florida I think) & he said that many members were not gonna donate to the school this year.... Because they fired JoePa.

SMH.

It's to be expected.

They could have handled the firing better as well.

Why, on page 13, are there still people unsure what Paterno was told?

Only those of us who deal in facts.....rather than speculation and your own personal biases.

If you say that you know what he was told, you are either a complete idiot or a liar....or in your case, both.

Your total SPECULATION of what Paterno was told is based on the testimony of McQueary.

A guy who admittedly witnessed the rape of a 10 yo boy and turned and walked away from it.

A guy who admittedly witnessed the rape of a 10 yo boy and did NOT go to the police.

A guy who admittedly witnessed the rape of a 10 yo boy and whose only action was to mention it to the head coach.

A guy who admittedly witnessed the rape of a 10 yo boy and who never followed up after telling Paterno anything.

The guy is covering his ass right now and trying to make it look like he has no fault in this.

I tried the fact vs. speculation thing with husker and was denied.

McQueary should be right there beside him for being such a pussy. How do you just turn and walk away without helping that child?

Exactly.

McQueary was 28 years old when he witnessed this....he was not a child.

If I walked in on ANYONE molesting a child, I would put your ass through the wall....or die trying.

McQueary is a POS for turning and walking away. One call to the police would have ended the whole damn thing in 2002. Instead, he punted.

We are speculating on what Paterno was told. McQueary (by his own admission) witnessed it and practically did NOTHING to stop it.

He is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH worse in my eyes.
