Agree and disagree. Like you, I love Smitty. But he doesn't play quarterback. Cam is our first franchise quarterback and will become synonymous with the city of Charlotte in so many ways that Smitty can't, just based on the limitations of his position.

It's hard to be a superstar in the NFL unless you're a QB, you play in a large market, or you are nearly unanimously agreed upon to be the best at your position (Like LT in the mid 2000s and AP now).

Besides last year, plenty of sportswriters put Smith as a top 5 WR, but very few outside of the Carolinas had him as the best.
