So who do you want with our 3rd overall pick?

Wouldn't be surprised if Luck opted to go to Med school if we had #1

He's actually only a red-shirt Junior, so he doesn't even have to leave for the NFL this year. He still has one year of eligibility at Stanford after this year.

But, honestly, like The Oracle said, we need to go for a position that's not a glamour position. I know that WRs are awesome to watch, and exciting, but we need much, much more help than that.

OLB, DB, DT, RT, all of those positions are honestly higher in need than WR, especially considering we'll have David Gettis coming back, hopefully we'll have Shockey back, and we'll still have Greg Olsen. So, that's going to help. Also, there's more than just the first round to grab receivers. (Hint: Marques Colston was drafted in the 7th round.)

Blackmon or Jeffery, i know the popular pick will be Kalil, but honestly, i think Bell is ok enough to work with, but with one of those WRs, we can re-sign Smith to a big deal and make Newton's passing that much better.

He can't pass the ball if he keeps getting sacked.

For all we freaking need, you surely listed A LOT of things

3 things that are most important: #2 receiver, O man and a vet QB.

Use your top draft pick to trade and get the first 2. You don't need a draft pick for a QB. The next Brady might be in the 7th round, or undrafted like Warner, on in NFL Europe like Jake or down at the bottom of the first round like Rodgers. Either stick with Cam if he turns into a game manager or find you a back-up with an upside.

But even if you stick with Cam you have to get a vet QB who knows how to run it. To teach at least. To challenge. And you have all those other picks to use on whatever you want. Whatever other positions might need filled: defense mainly and ST.

It's what we needed to do last year. It's what Bengals did and it freaking worked. It's working for Fox with The Golden Calf of Bristol cause that dude is inspirational and can get his guys to fight. He's got the God thing going. What's Cam got? "Look at me"? And you guys like this?

The QB position is not about athleticism. It never was and never will be. It's about leadership, character, consistency and accuracy with the ball out of the pocket. It has not changed in 100 years and no QB will ever change it.

What the hell are you talking about?

We need a vet QB? Um, Derek Anderson?

The Bengals drafted a guy to learn, and it worked? Who? Andy Dalton was drafted this year, and started game 1. Are you talking about Carson Palmer? He sat behind Kitna, because Kitna wasn't the future. Palmer was. Especially when they used a high draft pick on him.

Rodgers was drafted because Brett Favre was considering retiring.

since when was Jay Cutler a mobile QB?

Jay's always been known as a scrambling QB. He has over 200 rushing attempts in his career, as well as almost a 1000 yards rushing, and five rushing TDs.

He's not a scrambling QB, not in the same ilk as Cam or Vick, but yeah, Cutler's always been a guy that scrambles in the pocket, moves outside of the pocket, and can run for first downs easily.

Do people actually want Cam to be mobile?

Sure, it's exciting and an additional weapon, but if I had to choose I'd take pocket passer Cam over mobile Cam any day of the week. I want him to have as much time as possible before he has to take off scrambling.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
