agreed with a whole lot of what you said... even in the fox era, it seems like we never gave the ball to the hot hand. it's even more apparent now... dwill comes in when stewart is running like a mad man. our offense is considered explosive because of of vertical passing game... where was it???? how many screen plays were called today? when a defense player (especially a star defensive player) gets fired up, NEVER EVER NEVER EVER EVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER would i take him out of the game. what the fug was that?

My thoughts:

--People are antagonizing Rivera. They have every right too. I said it a few weeks ago, but people are starting to catch on. Rivera's team lacks discipline. We heard the murmurs during Training Camp about how lackadaisical it was-and it shows. People seem to have this perception that Rivera is a strong military man who will get in people's face and chew them out. It just isn't true. He isn't running a tight-ship. He has done a less than stellar job coaching. Stop giving cutesy names like "Mr. Mopeyhead" to our players. Stop pulling players who get emotionally invested in the game. Charles Johnson get's fired up-you pull him. Steve does-you pull him. Shockey saw next to no playing time today. You've already tempered Cam's enthusiasm for the game. Stop trying to spread your stoic apathy to the rest of the team. Crack down. 12 penalties today. In Week 10, we are still having trouble with flags.

In regards to the bolded comments:

There's a difference between being "emotionally invested in the game" and getting dumb penalties that hurt your team. Johnson's penalty was stupid, cost his team a stop on 3rd and 15, and gave the Titans the ball back when they should have been punting. Pulling players after they have retarded penalties is something that is done league-wide by almost every coach. If you haven't noticed, you haven't been paying attention. And if you want to keep players in the game that are letting their emotions override playing smart football, just remember what happened to that asshole CB down in Atlanta when they left him in the game against Steve Smith a few years ago. Enjoy more of that.

The internet definition of hipster is someone who purposely hates trends because they are popular.

Many people are mad about a certain number of things. Chances are there will be a few who try to contest them simply because they don't like to "go with the flow."

What they don't understand-is that there is sometimes a flow for a reason. I think it fits just fine.

Pressures allowed by Cinci's offensive line: 2

lol... wait, andy dalton had MORE TIME against a BETTER DEFENSE than cam newton did? whoa, dalton is much better.

anyways, the reason everyone is ignoring the "terrible rookie qb problem" is because we have much, much more to worry about

Exactly what I saw. What I read was the rookie Qb actually only got pressured twice by the steelers, and cam got pressured 8 times by the titans. Sorry I'm not a blind homer but you can't tell me that one of the o-lines performed better than the other. Hell titans we're able to get pressure with 3 man rush lol

He didn't have more time. He gets the ball out quicker. You guys have not seen this all year? You get pressured more when you hold on to the ball longer too! It works both ways.

Cam doesn't get it out quick. Which is why our red-zone offense sucks. Which is why we always rush Cam in the red-zone. Why we lead the league in holding penalties. Which is why Steve Smith only has 4 TD's and nearly 1000 yards.

Do you guys never ask yourself why Cam Newton only looks good in yards and long balls when it comes to passing? STEVE SMITH!

He's bad in everything else:

Cam is now last in sacks.

Nearly last in picks.

Bad completion percentage.

First in holding penalties

He's not ready for the NFL. Neither is our offensive style with Cam.

The ESPN talking heads were saying Cam was making Smith look good and you, real Panthers fans, agreed. Bought into the lie. Shame on you. Let it be known.

Panther fans are disloyal to proven vets. And credit unproven rookies before they credit their veteran and proven players. This is what's wrong with this fan base.

I agree with the opening post. I said earlier that the head coach shows no emotion and now that I thinkof it he does remind me of Norv Turner in SD. I would prefer a coach who shows some type of emotion like he cares instead of us having to assume he does.
