Should Tebow success get under Cam's skin

Orton stunk in terms of turnovers, not in terms of TDs (the Broncos scored more points with him under center), not completion percentage, not yards. Last year I didn't pay attention to the Broncos but I would have assumed that a league-worst defense would have cost them more games.

But when you have a more pass oriented offense it CAUSES the defense to look worse because there are more opportunities for both teams to put up numbers and score.

The run game The Golden Calf of Bristol provides allows the game to be slowed down.. and puts pressure on opposing defenses. Orton put up most his numbers from behind in losses too like

As a longtime fan in basketball I see the same thing.. coaches are always slowing down the pace of the game on offense to help their defenses.. and make a more efficient yet prolific offense. The same is true with football. This is why you see so many high scoring teams in the regular season become so conservative in the playoffs. The Golden Calf of Bristol's ability to score and not risk turnovers is a huge part of that...

Also, Orton was not putting up Marino like numbers. Stop saying that. He finished the season outside the top 10 in yards, in the bottom half of the league in touchdowns scored, and like 22nd in completion percentage. Those are not Marino-like numbers. The top QBs threw more than 1000 yards more than him, had more than 10 more TDs than him...

At this time last year that is what the media was saying.. he was on pace.. just like Cam.. I am telling you what i saw..

Still a supposed top ten QB and his running game and defense coincidentally stunk too.. I am telling you.. they are carbon copies from what I have seen watching both.

The Golden Calf of Bristol isn't dominating, The Golden Calf of Bristol is game managing. He is very good at it right now and I applaud him, but what he is doing is dominating one drive a game, which is sometimes enough to win.

You aren't "game managing" when you are running the ball like The Golden Calf of Bristol..

Kyle Orton was the ultimate game manager and considered a goof passer and he couldn't win to save his life..

Doesn't add up at all..

The Golden Calf of Bristol may have the numbers of a game manager but that doesn't ell the story.. he doesn't win games at the end like a game manager..

21 TDs, but who is counting.

Panthers didn't "bulk up" with talent, they just re-signed their own players, got one free agent who went down with an injury and made a no brainer trade... We'll actually be better on offense next year when we get back Gettis. Then again, these "amazing targets" Cam has were abysmal last year. Know why? I'll give you a hint: You need a QB to deliver the ball.

Cam's best games actually came after the first few weeks...

Orton was not a game manager... he turned the ball over multiple times and threw the ball 30+ times per game. The Golden Calf of Bristol is a game manager, because he doesn't throw the ball that often and avoids turnovers. Game managers can still win close games in the 4th quarter. It's more about what they are asked to do in the offense for the majority of the game. Orton was asked to score, The Golden Calf of Bristol is asked to manage the game.

Both cam and Orton are game managers in a prolific offense..

Carolina was dead last in the league on offense last year before Cam got here.

Dead last, that's 32nd place.

He took the 32nd place offense and made them the 5th ranked offense.

Dude.. Kyle Orton has been called the ultimate game manager for a long time.. and he put up numbers you are raving about. you are making my case.

No one even wanted Orton when he was on the trading block.. Miami took Henne over Orton.. do you think Henne is a game manager?

Thsi shows game managers can be in prolific offense sin this era..

The Golden Calf of Bristol doesn't have to do that because of his running abilities. And running is what wins or sets up wins in football..

With John Fox..

The reason cam is so overrated right now is because Fox drove that offense into the ground just like he did the Broncos.. Cam is getting the praise for for Fox simply not being there anymore..

And The Golden Calf of Bristol is now getting the blame for Fox's terrible offense..

Miami wanted Orton, but not for the price. Maybe he was a game manager last year, he was benched this year because he was not playing like one since he was giving the ball away left right and center. That's what I meant. Cam isn't playing like a game manager at all. He's being asked to carry his team and win football games since his defense couldn't do it. He isn't being asked to "manage" a game at all.

Undoubtedly the loss of Fox helped, but it isn't just that. It's clear that we were awful at quarterback last year and we have certainly upgraded. How much we have is yet to be seen, though.

Chad Henne was asked to win games too.. doesn't mean he's not a game manager..

Here is a great audio clip about The Golden Calf of Bristol and says something I have been saying all along. The Golden Calf of Bristol is knocked because he plays in his own way unlike other QBs.. it's not game managing.. it's ultra efficiency but not just as a passer..

So nothing to do with the fact he has broken most rookie records for performance?

How many NFL records does The Golden Calf of Bristol have?

cam's got it as good as he'll ever get right now. he's got 3 pro bowl targets in smith, shockey and olsen and 2 good RBs. if he can't win with these weapons, he'll never win. imagine if he had what dalton has to work with??

speaking of The Golden Calf of Bristol, he's got nothing over in denver. if The Golden Calf of Bristol had smith/shocky/olsen/williams/stewart, i guarantee his record would be better. same for dalton.

he has a team built around him and he still loses, but still likes to point to his number one on his chest. he has what? 11 tds and 14 ints?

and his numbers have not been good after the first few weeks (DCs didn't think he could throw so didn't plan for him in the beginning of the season)

it's only gonna get worse, because the panthers tried to bulk up on talent and will be over the cap next year so will have to let go of some people. cam's got a HUGE safety net in targets and rbs that dalton, ponder, and The Golden Calf of Bristol don't have. he won't have it next year.

he keeps smiling and pointing to that number one on his chest though. sure seems like he cares about his 2-7 record.....

I want what this guy is smoking...

It doesn't make sense that you would support The Golden Calf of Bristol, being a stat guy and all

http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/11/17/week-11-n-f-l-game-probabilities-and-the-The Golden Calf of Bristol-factor/

The Golden Calf of Bristol is 3-1 as a starter this season. So how is he doing it? Is it with his arm, his called runs, or his scrambles? It’s none of the above. It’s with defense and special teams.

In the three victories, The Golden Calf of Bristol totaled 0.03 WPA and 9.3 EPA, both of which are slightly above average. In other words, he helped more than hurt his team, but only barely

Edit: More in-depth look

http://www.advancednflstats.com/2011/11/how-is-The Golden Calf of Bristol-winning.html

The Broncos’ defense was responsible for -0.53 WPA and -2.9 EPA in the three wins.

    • When a team has EXPECTATIONS you have to show them that your fandom and praise is EARNED.  People would be mad if the they lost two one goal competitive games like 2023 but they wouldn't have gotten booed out of the building because the effort and competitiveness would be there but to lose in THAT fashion at home with your entire top line going free lance and saying fug this yeahhh.
    • Well with back to back road games to open the season again we really can't afford a "slow start" at least not for the psyche of the fanbase that is already at rock bottom from years of losing. I think that will depend on our approach to preseason this go around. But I do agree the makings of a culture change could be big for us. At the same time we heard talk of this last year and then we got the doors blown off multiple times. I can agree with you it's best to try to maintain perspective until we get closer to the midway point of the season. The main things I want to see early on even if we aren't necessarily winning is spark and toughness from the offense and defense and at least keeping games close.
    • First goal hmmm im going with Verhague
