i can't believe that anyone could see what desean jackson is doing this year and think that he could be good for this or any team.

the dude is talented for sure, but that talent is apparently wasted on a selfish prick of epic proportions. he doesn't care about the team. he doesn't care about the game. he doesn't care about being a professional. all he cares about is getting his way.

i don't want this team and this coaching staff to have to deal with that. i'd be surprised if they do. you don't want that kind of personality around a team you are trying to build. you can't trust it. you can't rely on it. you don't need it.

I understand what your saying and I agree it does look very selfish but the team is a disaster right now and on top of that they have screwed him over and not gave the man a paycheck which he has well earned. I know its no excuse but also the whole team isn't giving their all. Andy Reid also says that Jackson is giving it his all and that his numbers are down due to the fact that the teams are playing him harder. The news could be wrong about Jackson or maybe Reid is just covering it up either way look at this...

He is still leading the team in reception yards and has still put up some numbers in the past few games so its not like he has completely given up. Carolina has a bright future ahead of them and Hurney has said that he will make sure the loyal players will be paid so this would be a good fit for him.

jackson has shown no ability to be loyal to an organization. he would not be a fit for an organization looking for people who will be loyal to them.

I think Bowe would be a great addition but will KC let him walk? The guy is consistent and he had his best year last season. He is basically a 1,000 yard receiver any year he is healthy. one of the most underrated WR in the game today.

To be honest, I don't see the team paying big money for any WR. I think they like LaFell and believe Gettis can make an impact as well. I also expect, to the chagrin of many posters here, that they will bring back Naanee. Now I wouldn't be surprised if they draft a speed guy in the middle rounds that can also return punts, particularly if they are not sold on Edwards (which I get the feeling they are not). So I think our WR corps next year will be Smitty, Gettis, LaFell, Naanee, Pilares, and a speed guy that can also do PR.

The thing is that our offense is good enough to win as is, even without a definitive #2, but our defense must be upgraded if we want to have any chance of competing for the playoffs next year. And that's with Edwards and Beason coming back. So I think any big money we spend will go to a DT, LB, or CB rather than an offensive player. Not to mention the fact that defense is Rivera's calling card, and I'm sure he's embarrassed to have one of the leagues worst defenses. So, I see him doing whatever he can to turn it around quickly.
