Ndamukong Suh, a defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions on suspension for two NFL games, crashed his car into a tree early Saturday morning in downtown Portland. He and two passengers were not injured.

Suh, 24, reportedly lost control of a 1970 Chevrolet Coupe while he was driving south on 3rd Avenue. When he crossed Burnside Street, he crashed into a curb, light pole, a drinking fountain and a tree, according to Sgt. Pete Simpson, spokesman for the Portland Police Bureau.

Portland police responded at about 1:15 a.m. and determined that Suh was not impaired. He simply lost control of the car, Simpson said. Suh cooperated with the investigation and his car was towed from the scene, police said.

Yeah...may not have been impaired but something else is up. A Friday night at 1 am. How could he not be impaired and not stop at just the curb? Speeding maybe?

All that money and he drives that piece of poo?

I don't understand people.

I wouldn't consider that car to be a piece of poo by any means. If he was driving that car, then I can understand how he lost control. Rear wheel drive, lots of horses. Definitely was driving too fast. But, hey, that's between him and the man upstairs, who I'm sure was aware of his true intentions.

Imagine getting into a car crash with that guy and trying to get him to accept the blame for it. Not just because he's big and scary and prone to bouts of violence, but did you see have you seen his recent post-game interviews?

fug that, I'm calling the police.

Suspended Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was in a one-car accident Saturday in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. Officers on the scene determined that Suh wasn't impaired and "simply lost control of his vehicle." Neither Suh nor the two other passengers in the car were injured according to the report.

Two days later, two passengers in the car told KGW 8 Portland that Suh lied to police about the accident.

Suh's original story to police was that he was trying to pass a taxicab when he lost control of his car. The two passengers now have a different account of what happened.

“When the light turned green, he floored it,” one of the passengers told KGW. “I just remember going so fast and it was violent and just getting thrown around like rag dolls.”

The woman said she sustained injuries in the wreck including a cut on her eyebrow, black eye and a busted lip. Suh, according to reports, was among those who called 911. When he was asked “Are you sure you don’t need an ambulance?” he said, “Yes, everyone is fine.”

More details via KGW:

Yet the female passenger told KGW she did ask Suh to call an ambulance. She said he refused and told her she was fine. She eventually walked down the street and had her husband pick her up and take her to Oregon Health and Science University for treatment.

The woman said nearly 50 people swarmed Suh’s car after the crash and started snapping photos and she felt he was more worried about his image than her injuries.

The amended police report now says that there were four people in the car, not three, and that one person was seriously injured.

Still, authorities told KGW that they have no plans for issuing any citations from the accident. “At no point did anyone there tell an officer that [suh] was driving out of control,” said Sgt. Pete Simpson. “The crash doesn’t meet our threshold for investigation which is vulnerable road user, DUI, or serious trauma injury.”

The plot thickens

Thats a pretty nice ride. Worth quite a bit of money as well. He has good taste in cars even if his judgement is not quite right. :)

    • I don’t think people are saying that picking up the option s a call for the pitchforks. We would have had to do things differently a couple of years back to make declining the option a valid move. We didn’t and here we are. People largely accept that. The patter it adheres to, reinforces the nausea we feel when the idea of an extension, and at top of the market no less, comes up.  One that he hasn’t shown he deserves.   Same as he did not deserve to be drafted 1.1. Look at Pavia and what really is the difference? Bryce is a nice guy and Pavia is an asshole lol. They are both no margin for error non day one talents. One went undrafted.
    • We hate losing. I don't know Bryce to hate him. His play as a QB, I absolutely hate. It's just not good enough. If there were a lottery held to select the order and all 32 starting QBs could be drafted as the starting QB for whatever team selected them, how long do you think it would be before Bryce's name was called? Top 10, top 20, bottom 8? Think about it.  For me, having never seen back to back games with franchise QB level performance in 3 years tells me what I need to know. We still need to be looking for our solution at QB.
    • Dude, I'm saying the Cardinals have proven they know nothing. Not saying keeping Bryce is the best choice long term, just saying that we've made the right move for this moment in time.  But man, the Cardinals are never a blueprint for success. Haven't been since they were in Chicago.
