Kyle is gone, period. Nothing we can do to get him back. He is simply gone. He was an unrestricted free agent, we let him go and he signed elsewhere. Options are, find a free agent to sign, use someone from this team, (there are several who can) or draft one. The Panthers chose to pick up a free agent...

It's still possible the team could re-sign Kyle at a later date, but right now the team has no money to work with under the salary cap because of the nearly $17 million they have tied up in franchise player Julius Peppers.

I was really hoping we would be able to keep Jason Kyle. Don't underestimate the value of a rock solid long snapper. Remember we won the south by a last second FG. A couple botched snaps during the season can easily cost you a game or two.

I'm not trying to discredit what Kyle's done, but does anyone else remember when people were just praying he would be cut, and that he was a waste of a roster space?

Now we're doing what we have to do under our cap situation and everyone jumps on the Kyle bandwagon.

I remember people saying that... I also remember telling them they don't know what they're talking about. 8 years and zero botched snaps. Considering how many close games we always find ourselves in you can't overlook that position.

The article is wrong, (a week if I'm not mistaken). There is a limit of time that a team has to re-sign a player after he signs with another team and that time is over. Bad reporting. Bad reporting does not translate into truth, but I understand your confusion...
