If Steve Smith doesn't retire a Panther, I am going to be really disappointed. No man that has ever played for Carolina deserves to have his jersey retired and have the next statue built outside the stadium.

One fact that some have not taken into account is that we do not use a slot receiver very often. Our 4 WR set uses 2 TEs. We have to go empty backfield, or just one TE, to have a slot guy. Not in our normal game plan.

And yes there are exceptions. But a slot receiver is not one of our main toys. So Smitty will live or die on the outside, with a few slots thrown in for those special occassions.

I think that could work very well. If we trade Olsen, then we must keep resign Shockey. We have to have a TE that produces a threat

Might not have to trade Olsen and still have Blackmon. (I know, wishfull thinking.) But that would be contrary to everyones opinion that we need to draft D first.

If Blackmon is there, you have to take him. Or at least I would. IMO, you have to have offense. Whereas, you only need so much defense. Temper that with the fact that you have to take the BPA, if that player is a need. If that BPA is a CB, and you need a CB, you take the CB. If that BPA is a WR, and you need a WR, you take that WR.

I just believe that if you have a QB like Cam, you give him every weapon you can find. Sure you need to address the D. But if a talent like Blackmon is available, you have to take him.

He is still a top 5 Deep threat in the game, but he would be a nightmare in the slot with some open space in front of him. If we draft another beast WR, he will get some 1 on 1 match-ups that he hasnt seen since the beginning of 2005.

Except great receivers don't fall out of the sky and the defense is the suck.

we just acquired Olsen like 4 months ago, and hes been great player and leader for us. you want to trade him and draft a rookie WR? yeah, that would instantly make us a contender.

lets ignore our ELITE defense while we're at it, they've been playing lights out.

I think we have a good chance of getting A. Jeffery. If he is there at #8, he will most likely be the BPA.

I would like Defense, but if one of the stud WRs are there, we need to go for it.

Cam/ DW/ Stew/ Shock/ Smith/ and Jeffery(or Blackmon) would be the best offense in the league.

We would score so many points on offense that our Defense would be able to dictate the other team's gameplan. That means we could get by for a year or two while we build the defense through the draft.

That would be a dream come true. Then use every other pick we have to draft defense

Jeffery at 8 would be a huge reach.

In fact I think the guy must start on the PUP list because he have not reached the goalline in the 40 at the combine by the time the season start.
