Withdrawal Pains??

For the last 3 weeks I have been on a muscle relaxant, Tizanidine(Zanaflex).

It helps my back and leg pain. The problem is that is makes me fall asleep during the day.

I don't really like taking anything stronger than aspirin, so Thursday night, I decided not to take it and just take asprin instead. I think I slept MAYBE a hour. I just couldn't get to sleep. Last night I was so cold in bed, my body was shaking. I got up and cranked the thermostat to 72 degrees and added another blanket and had two cups of hot apple cider!

Finally, I fell asleep. I got up today and thought that maybe I was coming down with an infection. (Wheelchair people are prone to bladder infections.)

Now I think it was withdrawals! I took a nap this afternoon, and feel fine now.

Flexeril is used more to relax after sprains and injuries.

Tizanidine is more of a nervous system relaxant than a muscle relaxant.

To the OP: you should probably ask your doc to lower your dosage, or even change meds if all you have is back and leg pains.

    • It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.
    • As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.
    • Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
