Nicks is the best WR UNC has ever had. but i dont think jones is very far off.

i think there's a huge drop off between the two. nicks was one of the best players UNC has ever had regardless of position. jones is good and physically very talented but hasn't shown anywhere near the ability to take over games nicks did.

It's because it doesn't exist. Rivera has done nothing but constantly sat how excited he is to have Gettis back next year. Gettis was the unquestioned starter in TC from day one, until he got hurt a couple days later.

On how the injury occurred: It was down in the red zone. He was releasing and he got jammed, and his foot caught and slipped in a bad direction. So it was disappointing. The young man, like I said, was having a really good camp.

As pointed out, this was a week after Rivera felt the need to bring in Naanee because no one had really stepped up to claim #2.

I remember the sequence of events well, because this is a position I was watching closely as camp began. Rivera did later praise Gettis profusely, but carpanfan96 is correct in that RR was not enamored with LaFell or Gettis early in camp.

It was my fault, I worded that all kinds of wrong. Yeah I was mentioning the fact that Rivera was saying no one was stepping up after Smith in camp.

I remember that statement from RR as well,and why would he talk bad or say how disapointed he was in somebody who just injured.don't think they will put all their eggs in the Gettis basket.

That's how I feel. Rivera wasn't to high on him, and I don't think it'd be too wise to expect too much of him next season off that inury, so they might draft someone early for not only a back up plan, but maybe even to replace Steve, he's 33 in the last year of his contract, next season after all.

I don't think it's likely we'll take a WR in the first, unless we trade down and they feel Floyd or Wright is the BPA. So a Jones, Criner or Sanu early in the second wouldn't surprise me.
