Can't believe Wren was fired and Fredi wasn't.  There's honestly nothing to look forward to in this team right now.  They were extremely average this year and we only have one more year of our best batter (J-Up)..... combine that with a very weak farm system and yikes..... the future looks really bleak right now

Madison Bumgarner, who grew up a HUGE Braves fan in NC, desperately wanted Atlanta to draft him out of high school in '07.

I'm glad they drafted that bum Heyward instead. Bumgarner is going down as an all-time great postseason player opposed to wallowing away in shitty ATL.

Heyward traded to St Louis for Shelby Miller. Not sure how I feel about this. We traded a potential superstar for a potential superstar.

Hart making it pretty clear this is no longer Frank Wrens team, trading young guys like JHey and LaStella for young arms. With the news about Lester as well, they are clearly looking at pitching being a strength, but that offense needs major help.

I don't look for Gattis and JUpton to be here much longer. I'm sure he'd like to get rid of BJ and CJ too, but those contracts make it tough.

Signed Nick Markakis. 4 year 45 mil. Decent signing. Good defense and solid contact hitter with the occasional pop. Hopefully he won't turn out to be another FA mistake. I do trust Hart's judgement more than Frank's though.

The Markakis signing wouldn't make sense for a rebuild. Almost replaces Heyward's production with less power and range in the outfield. Signals Gattis or JUp likely moving as expected.

 

Beachy is probably done, Medlen has a better shot at a comeback. Wouldn't be surprised if the Braves took another shot at him, but he already turned down a good offer for someone in his position.

Signed Alberto Callaspo to a one year deal. He'll probably take over second base duties or push CJ at 3rd.
