Panthers sign....

why do we lose the Arizona game?

it was a damn near PERFECT punt. Peterson should of had his head removed...kick was set up to either be fair caught or have PP murdered.

Result? epic TD run. Cardinals win. Even when put in IDEAL scenarios his coverage blew chunks. Replace Mare, improve ST talent....then worry about P.

Really don't care about the coverage, tired of the excuses for players. Bring in or draft someone to compete with him. The entire special teams needs an entire overhaul.

Did we really expect our ST to be good last season? We had to find new special teamers because our original ST was starting on defense.

From the blurb, it sounds like Hurney thinks he's the real deal.

He will be on the active roster to start the season. Write it down.

How did you get that from that article?

This is what I read it as - Hurney: "We signed a kicker. He's young."

well, no offense, but if you want to talk about the punting game.....coverage is the biggest part of it.

We didn't lose that AZ game b/c of Baker...he did his job perfectly. His stats get hammered when he sets his team up perfectly.....and run around like chickens with their heads cut off screwing the team.

You bash Baker...then try to spin that pathetic excuse for coverage in that game as an excuse? Chicago game....Hester is a beast. Regardless, even Hester should of been stopped for a minimal gain on that TD.

Coverage matters. I'd argue your coverage team is slightly more important than your P. If you want a good kicking game....good coverage guys make the punting game work...and being able to make basic tackles.

Then how did Peterson return that TD for a touchdown? At that time only Beason was hurt.

No. Can't expect them to be good picking them off the street each week. But they sucked out of the gate.

But scapegoating Baker as the reason our punting sucked...isn't the answer. The reason our punting sucked is b/c we had no one to play ST. It showed....and it hurt us big and often.

I would put the coverage on that play as the most embarassing/pathetic play on the season.

2nd is Sherrod Marton giving up the TD before the half against the Saints.

All I care about is replacing Mare really. To be honest, I'd rather not have a kicker/punter all-in-one player. If it was a good idea, I'm sure there would be more teams doing it. We can worry about whether or not to replace Baker some other season for all I care. We could spend that time replacing the sh*t members of our ST. Just as long as Mare isn't on the roster next season, I'm good.

The only thing that worries me is the cap hit. Is it worth it?

Poorly coached, imo. Players flew past him.

We need a white corner and a white wide receiver and we're golden on the, "Wait he's (insert color here)?" topic.

I can't think of the last white CB in the NFL. Maybe John Lynch played before moving to S?

    • I see the logic in what you're saying, but I'd also say there were games with a bit more talent on the roster that some of the L's are actually W's.  AZ - We don't get off to a crappy start and if this game is later in the season when Bryce is a bit more comfortable, I think we beat the Cards NO - At least one of, if not both of these games would've gone our way SF - Perfect opportunity to snag a win on the road that Purdy handed to us, but we couldn't do anything offensively TB - Final game was winnable in Tampa  All this to say, I think 8 wins is about where we were at in 2025 if you take the games we barely won and combined them against the games that we barely lost.  Add 5-6 new pieces in FA and the draft. We went head to head and almost beat the Rams in a meaningful playoff game that gave a lot of the youth that experience to take into 2026 and beyond, and I do think 10-11 wins is achievable next year.  Not guaranteed, but much the way folks thought we could get to 8 or 9 wins this year as the ceiling, I think 10-11 is the new ceiling for next year.
    • Milano at LB.  We just have Jags at the position. Can still draft an LB. Likely has to be in consideration at TE. Sanders hurt. TT FA. Doubs, Alec Pierce, Shaheed. All three could really help this offense in totally different ways. Doubs feels the most redundant of the group but he is also the most polished and talented wr. Be done w XL.  I still argue that Bryce needs an elite, Houston-type, defense in order to succeed here. I would legitimately find out the asking price to both Myles Garrett and Vita Vea. Cleveland is transitioning and will have a new coach. Vea is in last year of contract.  Assemble the best dline in football. Bring in Milano to fix ILB. Corners are good. Safety’s aren’t terrible and Ransom looks promising.  You’d have a 3 year window or so.   Biggest issue w any plan is going to be LT. Idk what the fix is there.
