Pete Caroll: "watch Out For Cam Newton & Panthers!"

You're the kind of guy I always destroy in fantasy football: obsessed with names you recognize and completely unable to look ahead and see players that can break out with the proper fit. You're the kind of guy who would trade me Dallas Clark for Rob Gronkowski before the season.

What I'm saying is, you don't understand how we can improve without huge free agent splashes because you don't see what you don't want to see.

Can you point to a link where you've actually ever done something like that?

actually im the opposite. i brought up the patriots as winners in free agency, they didnt make any real big name free agency splashes. the bucs did though and i think they went about everything COMPLETELY wrong and i'm not worried about them at all.

in fact in pretty much every free agency thread i talk AGAINST making big free agency splashes and talk about the value of getting those cheap 2nd tier (but still quality) free agents that the patriots and other smart teams stack up on every year.

Umm Cam had how many turnovers? He had plenty crucial turnovers, he still was a rookie and learning... and our weak D

Nobody said we're going to the SB... but that doesn't mean we wont mess up a few records and change teams positions in the playoffs go... or we might go the playoffs and put up a good fight

lol yay high standards

honestly if you're not putting a team together with the purpose of winning the super bowl then what's the point

building for the future? yeah we've been doing that for how many years now

Thanks I thought it was that pass this is by far my favorite cam pass so far love it

My favorite pass is where he just hit Greg Olsen in stride for a 30+ yard touchdown. That ball couldn't have been thrown any better. The precision was just phenomenal. The scary part was that defenders where right there but he still thread the needle with pin point accuracy.

Except the Patriots haven't done much more than grab a bunch of warm bodies to try to fill holes that their consistently poor drafting and free agency busts over the last few years have left in their team. Remember when Belichick was known as a defensive genius? Now he's shoehorning receivers into his secondary, because they've busted on entire drafts before as paid out chunks of change on players like Adalius Thomas and Chad Ochocinco.

I'm fine with our method, which I say'll yet again relies far more on input from the head coach than other teams. Rivera will get players to his liking, and if he feels that existing players can step it up we'll roll with them. Just sit tight and see how it shakes out and stop blaming Hurney from every single thing you can imagine, when he's rarely the one pulling the trigger.
