Panthers Will Be 11-5 Or Better This Year

Looking at our scheduled opponents, I'm thinking we will lose 1 home game to one of the Mannings and 4 away games...1 to Atlanta, 1 to New Orleans, 1 to Philly, 1 to either Chicago or San Diego.

Honestly, I can't see us losing any others...unless we get devastated by injuries again. And I could see us easily doing as well as 13-3. None of our opponents are particularly fearsome. We could lose to Tampa there, but I really think their coaches are going to struggle. College coaches don't do particularly well in the NFL. A lot, of course, depends on injuries and who we add to the roster...but I'm sincerely very optimistic.

if the offense keeps pace with last year, which it should, assuming the consistency looks more like the second half of the season, teams will have to put up 30 to 35 points to beat us. if rivera fixes the defense and improves even to a middle-of-the-road squad, 11-5 is not out of the range of possibilities.

Why do people do this...

Look, so much can change between now and these games. We could lose pivotal players through injury during camp, the opposing teams could draft well and pick up some great free agents - or even the new coaches could revitalise teams.

Stop trying to predict and just let things happen.

Im looking for a big year. Esp after getting injured players back and a year under the belt in the new system. Cam should be better which is a scary thought.

My only concern is #2 CB and our DL play.

Here's the good news: If absolutely nothing changed from last year, the experience itself along with a full offseason and TC should improve both. That said, I think Edwards will make a difference...how big, I dunno. I also think that Hogan will emerge as a bona fide #2 corner. And then we're almost certainly to address at least one if not both of these in the draft. I am confident of pretty significant improvement.

right, but these guesses are all about projections based on current information. based on what we know now, as well as what we're projecting from the draft and what is likely to be a very limited post-draft free agency period, and based on cam's progression last season and the addition of offensive line components and the departure of shockey and the return of injured players, we're making comparisons between this year's team and last year's team and determining where we will likely stand.

i get your point, and there's a such thing as taking it too far, but let's not be a turd in the punch bowl about it

Why do people post such useless nonsense? aka whining and complaining.

Like another poster pointed out. Its projections based on right now....

Therefore Vegas says 8.5

I'd like to see who we can add in the draft to this team before I predict our record. But, I'd be happy with a 10-6 record. I think we would be able to squeeze in the playoffs with 10 wins. The NFC is going to come down till the very end anyway.

I'd like to see who is healthy after the preseason and what band aid vets we add to the DL before I predict anything

    • Dave in a presser gassed up Anthony Tyus III and dying to see him on the field.  I mean 3 is all that needed right, and Dan loves etienne. He's one year filling in his body. If brooks is back, toss in chubba, thats 3.
    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
