Projected 40 Time: 4.40.

Combine 40 Time: 4.54.

Pro Day 40 Time: 4.43.

Benchx225: 14. Vertical: 39.5. Broad: 9-10.

Projected Round (2009): 5-6.

2/23/09: Somehow Mike Mayock's No. 5 running back, Mike Goodson ran an average 40 at his size, but notched a 39.5-inch vertical. He's a mid-round prospect at best.

1/20/09: Mike Goodson has declared a year early for the NFL Draft. His stock really depends on how fast his 40 is at the Combine. If he runs a 4.3, he made the right decision; if not, he should have stayed in school. Goodson totaled 406 rushing yards, 386 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

Pick Analysis:Goodson is a big back with really impressive quickness and speed. He hasn't been a full-time starter in college, but he has great explosion and change of direction. He may develop into a multi-threat player in the NFL who can play slot receiver, catch screens, run the ball and return kicks.

AnalysisPositives: Lean, athletic build, but one that seems better suited to wide receiver in the NFL. Rare speed and agility. Quick to and through the hole. Can make defenders miss in tight spaces and flashes exceptional elusiveness in the open field. Rare balance and the ability to cut at top speed in either direction. Experienced receiver out of the backfield. Runs with functional power, despite less than ideal strength, as he keeps his legs churning and spins out of tackles. A threat to go the distance every time he has the ball in his hands. Lacks experience as a special teams returner, but has the potential to be a standout in this area -- much like former Aggie Dante Hall. Negatives: Lacks the bulk to be an every-down back. Marginal leg drive for short-yardage situations. Undeniable athleticism, but Goodson's production dropped in each of his three seasons with the Aggies -- and it can't be blamed on just touches as his yards per carry also dropped each year. Legitimate intangible red flags regarding his struggles to coexist with former Texas A&M head coach R.C. Slocum and his staff, as well as current head coach Mike Sherman and his staff, especially considering that Sherman publicly touted Goodson as the player the offense would be centered around when he took the position. Scouts will also question Goodson's toughness after he missed time with sprains in his neck, groin and right knee since last spring.

Initially I'm dumbfounded by the pick. Upon looking up his profile, if we are planning to use him primarily as a WR and try him as a KR/PR, then this could have great value... But once again, I think there were better prospects on the board at the time.

BTW, former Packers coach Mike Sherman, now the coach at A&M said at one time he was the future of there program and they would build the offense around him.

(would've rather taken Louis Murphy, but we'll see)

      He’s been every bit as much of the problem as anyone else. You cant remove him from that fact, he is just as much part of the team and in THE most important position on the field. But this is the first season he’s seen any kind of continuity in his team and coaches. And he’s shown flashes here and there. But we do need more out of him going forward a lot more if we are going to be successful

      Bryce isn’t great and super mid. But I think can be a game manager. What do we think is out there? Daniel Jones isn’t going anywher. Mac Jones? Zach Wilson? Pickett. I’m just not sure what’s out there that is much better without having to give up a ton of capital. Rather take one more step closer to contention with our early rounders next year with FS and LB help. Make this  place where dang they got a defense and a WR1 and solid RB room. I can win with that and want to be here

      AR15 is if Justin Fields was fragile and his teammates hated him. No thanks. Ya'll think you hate watching Bryce Young? Wait until your QB can't even complete a 7 yard pass over the middle, which Fields and Richardson can't do. If the draft class was better, I could absolutely see the Titans moving on from Ward already if they got the #1 pick. But so far the college QB's haven't impressed enough. They'll have flashes, but then follow it up with a very meh game. Kyler is already done in Arizona, but he has a ridiculous contract and he's basically Bryce that likes to scramble, so no thanks. If Lawrence can't produce with that team in Jacksonville, what do you think he'll do here? He's tall Bryce who can throw deep but can't make the 4th down throws and crumbles in the red zone. No thanks. I do think Canales wants to move on from Bryce, his body language says so even in wins. He treated Bryce pretty odd this week and Bryce looked checked out in the Packers game. But unless they make another risky trade, its going to be slim pickings. Basically our hopes lie in hitting early in the draft with a Mateer, Nussmeier, Beck type or finding a random backup free agent that has another gear to hit.  I think even with the draft being wishy washy, 4-5 QB's will be taken in the top 7. A lot of teams are just that desperate.
