I Just Don't See Us Taking A Dt Or A Cb Today

What statement? Did he say he liked the CB's on this team. I know that he was happy with the growth of Lafell and excited to get Gettis back.

I can't speak to any statements he made but I can speak to certain actions the organization has made, and we had Hill, Randle, and Jeffery all in for visits to Charlotte, so I think that indicates at least some level of interest in those 3 WRs left on the board.

They also brought all in the DT and went to dinner 2 nights before the draft with Coples. They met Kuechly once and fell in love with him. So bringing in those wr doesn't really mean anything.

I don't see a WR coming in this year and being a Upgrade over what we have already.

Unless we get a WR who can play special team as well as wr then I don't see the Value.

A 2nd round WR doesn't have to be better year 1. It will give the guy a chance to develop behind Laffel, Gettis, and not put so much pressure on him to be the man right away.

Similar to what we did with Steve Smith who spent time on special teams as a returner for a couple of years before becoming a starter, and then eventually our #1.

Again I rather have a Impact player in the 2nd round then a development project. WE were 6-10 not 12-4 last year. We need starter not back-ups in the 1st 2 rounds.

I think they had a genuine interest in Coples and probably would have drafted him if Keuchly was off the board.

Bringing in the guys I think shows a genuine interest. But what the player did on their visit, interview, etc. could determine whether they feel comfortable drafting him or not.

And you want a DT?? A position that rookies rarely have impact. Especially guys not taken in the first 10 picks of the draft.

Or CB where Patrick Peterson, the best player in the draft last year really struggled in coverage?

All rookies need to develop.

Then by the same token the Dt's and Cb's they brought in are targets as well.

I'm sure we have interest in them, yes. But it comes down to where they are ranked on the board.

I only brought up the visits to show that there is likely some interest in these WRs.

From what's been reported the only defensive player we have met with still out there is Trumaine Johnson.

PP still started and played and had a Impact on special teams. The Wr you name are just WR none of them will help us at another spot while developing. Dt would be Ok but I rather go CB or situational Pass Rusher.

We have Pilares who did great on special teams once he got the job. Why would we replace him right now??

Which statements are those?? Just curious. I may have missed something.

I can't find them right now. Hell, maybe I imagined them.

But, we definitely brought in a lot of highly rated WRs for visits. I know we brought in at least Blackmon, Floyd, Wright, and Joe Adams.

Still though, I think a pass rusher is most likely at #40. I'd soil myself if Joe Adams made it to us in the 4th.
