Tommy "touchdown" Streeter

Am I the only one intrigued with this guy and hope he is our 4th round pick?!?

Elite size: 6'5 219

Elite speed: 4.3 - 4.4

Streeter averaged almost 18 ypc! Almost 900 yards on just 46 catches. 8 touchdowns.

I see a HUGE playmaker that will really stretch the field and provide a great red-zone threat.

Which is why I hate the idea of passing on Curry / Jenkins / Still in the 2nd for a WR. We can get both a good DL and a good WR. This will absolutely no good DL in the 4th.

the one idea I have to support late round recievers is that I think Cam will be so good he will make the WRs better than they are. Like Peyton manning did. Or look at The Golden Calf of Bristol, even though he was too daft to read a defense he could eventually scramble around until a guy got open, didn't really matter what route he ran. Cam can bring both of those aspects to the game, so we don't need a super beastly reciever.

Also we have Chud and he can develop a TE very well. I want a late round TE too.

Yeah I'm a hurricanes fan as well and I'm always open to bring in our guys if they can put the work in to be great pro's like Beason and Olsen. Streeter could be the best receiver from this class, all the potential is there.

This. Honestly I doubt he makes it to our pick in the 4th.

That kind of size and speed is so rare.

If he had slightly better hands he would be a 1st round pick without question.

The upside on this kid is unreal.

Yea i agree he has all the talent in the world, i just wonder why it took him so long to get on the field at the U. From what i hear his work ethic didn't kick in until late in his career and he did something to get himself into Randy's dog house. Others say Randy just had it out for him and didn't give him a chance. Who knows? I would like to see him end up on this team tho.

LaFell fixed his dropsies... maybe he can give him some pointers!

Reminds me of a Plaxico/David Boston kind of receiver. Could be a huge red zone threat for Cam and in most of those vids, he was wide open by several steps on defenders. He's raw, but like you say, that size/speed/pedigree at the U combo will have lots of front offices drooling. I'd be happy with him in the 4th or if we trade into the last part of the 3rd and agree that Cam (like Peyton, Brees, Rodgers) can make Streeter a viable force at WR.

True.

But Streeter is a diff kind of WR. He is a big play field stretcher. Not a possession WR.

You line up man on Streeter with no S help and your in trouble!

Learning to catch the damn ball is learning to catch the damn ball. I don't want LaFell teaching him how to run... I want him teaching him how to CATCH!

Now if Streeter wants to return the favor and teach LaFell some speed.... well 1st that'd be great and 2nd you better put Streeter in charge of speed training for everyone!

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
