Draft Picks Hint At New Defense?

Watching the first 4 rounds of the draft has me thinking, we might moving towards the 3-4. I know this is an old though, since thats what RR ran in SD, but look at the picks. Kuechly, a MLB, could be combined with Beason in the middle. Alexander, viewed as a "tweener" DE, could be moved to a pass rusher OLB.

These two picks don't prove anything, but do bring up the interesting prospect of carolina moving in that direction. Also, we haven't made any of the moves people thought we needed to make for our current defense. Such as getting another strong DT in the middle or drafting an elite DE.

just a thought.

I'll buy it when we pick a 3-4 nose. I don't think Fua could handle that role. McClain definitely could not.

don't forget we still have Ron Edwards coming back from injury. my not be the 3-4 nose tackle we need, but I think that will come.

thomas davis and james anderson are not 3-4 linebackers. charles johnson would be a olb. It's not gonna happen we are a 4-3 team.

We will see 3-4 looks, but our base D is going to remain 4-3.

Expect to see some awesome wrinkles with TD coming off the bench to provide a dynamic element.

The coaches told Luke Kuechly they wanted him to learn "all three linebacker spots".

That makes me think it's highly unlikely we're switching to a base 3-4.
