It's really hard to say. I prefer grading each pick overall.

Kuechly (1) A. Fantastic choice.

Silatolu (2) B+. There were bigger needs elsewhere, but good value and potential. A larger bust factor however due to the level of competition.

Alexander (4) B. Not nearly as bad a pick as others think.

Adams (4) A+. Fills a need, best player available, star-level future if he does what he's supposed to do.

Norman (5) A. Best CB available. Wouldn't have been mad if we got him in the 4th but a solid choice. Could start week one.

Nortman (6) B-. Not a bad time to pick a punter and he's fine, but could have waited til 7th, and I firmly believe better options were out there.

Campbell (7) B. Who the hell cares? Take a shot. He was pretty highly-regarded out of Cal and has good closing speed.

I agree with everything he said except amini. I think you can never have to many good offensive lineman. Guy was rated high. Looks like he could be a true difference maker on the inside.

An "A" all the way.

I almost hesitate to say anything as it will probably come back to bite me, but this draft was outstanding imo. I don't remember ever being this pleased with a Panthers' draft top to bottom.

Last year was special because of Cam, but other than that, I did not like many of our picks. I am just ecstatic over the guys we got this year.

I think starting two 3rd round rookie DTs and Hogan being on PUP list most of the year will sway many people's thoughts on last year's draft, but will turn out to be pretty solid when looking back after year 3... I don't know why some people want to set such ridiculous expectations on those DTs but what wasn't shocking to me was their game play.. Hogan looks to be a baller to me.. Hogan/Gamble/Norman could be a nasty secondary and all seem to have similar skills (bump/run, solid man coverage ability, ball hawking ability)..

pulling 4 legit starters from a draft is pretty amazing, but it's too early to tell...

For the players picked, ranges from C to A for me, depending on the pick.

Trading next year's 3rd = F for day 3. If this was the 1st or 2nd time, I would give Freddie MacHurney a benefit of the doubt D, but for continuous repitition of the same behavior with the expectation of different results...

C for day 3 B for all around... I'm not fans of our first picks, but I see why he did it..... I also don't agree with trading a third round for a fourth round.... That's why I gave it a C...Next year we will want to have picked up someone in the third, but we couldn't have because of a trade that picked up fourth round talent. Unless those guys really pan out, I don't really see it as a worthwhile investment.

    • Poster board? Were you trying to use the term poster child?
    • I mean, you're acting like we don't see the tippy-toe bunny hops, jump throws more than normal (with both feet dangling in the air every which a way), and off-platform but off-balance throws that arrive short or sail high. Could that be bad mechanics due to being short? Could a seeming propensity to bail the pocket towards the sidelines early as opposed to sitting in the pocket tall and strong, surveying his reads, be an attempt at trying to see an open throwing lane? I'm not saying that what you're saying isn't a contributing factor to what has been an underwhelming display of executing the QB position, but this is year three, and if the lightbulb hasn't switched on by now---if you haven't figured out that guys are faster, stronger and generally more athletic, then what's it going to take? It's hard to forget that "mental processing" was supposed to be Bryce Young's superpower. Are you telling me that he can't nail down such an easy concept as, "I can't get away with the things I did in college at the pro level," is that right? If he can't get past that, then that surely limits his ability to successfully execute all the other stuff.  Look, I'm not trying to be flippant. I acknowledge that playing pro football is more complex than a lot of fans realize, but all we can do, as fans, is observe. One of my favorite things to do is just look at the greater picture and think what part human nature is playing in the many decisions that are being made or have to be made. You're absolutely correct that fans don't know exactly what's going on, but that is by design, and in many ways it's just the nature of the beast. Some things we can't know. That being said, the professionals screw the hell up all the time. The professionals disagree all the time. These disagreements can be within the same franchise or from franchise to franchise. And sometimes these decisions are all over the place, so excuse me if I ain't exactly buying the I-know-more-than-thee sentiment and that that means that professionals always make better decisions than fans would about certain players. Some of this stuff is simply luck or a crapshoot.
