Everrett Brown called most impact rookie next season

if both brown and peppers are playing brown is going to be on the left most likely and i have little problem with this.

i want the QB to see that train coming and panic while peppers is coming in from behind. brown can play on either side and i like the idea of him playing against the weaker of the two OTs.

when peppers got in, even though he had played RE throughout his college career and was most likely going to be the better between he and rucker, rucker stayed on the RE and kept it until he retired. same will be for peppers/brown...if both are on the team the right side will be peppers until he is no longer a panther.

So your going to put the 6'1" 250 guy at LE??? That makes no sense.... bigger of the two needs to be at LE to hold up against the strong side of the offense.

all nice..but we have to wait and see if all this translates to the NFL..OT are bigger and stronger and faster...most people would prefer a peppers type player me i will wait and see but from what i saw i loved browns moves..and who is the guy on the other side for flordia that DE looked good all by himself..

That would be Markus White.

peppers will be given the right side. brown won't be kept out of the mix. he'll go and do well wherever he is. right side or left...he will be able to handle either side.

he may be small but he's the same size as robert mathis who is the LDE in indy and he's definitely not weak.

there are plenty of teams who have a smaller LDE than RDE. many teams put the better or more established pass rusher on the blind side regardless of size.

Everette Brown is 256lbs...about the same size that John Abraham was as a rookie, and Brown has the frame to put on 10lbs pretty easily without losing his speed, so I don't know why people are so worried about his size.
because it's the cool thing to doubt and criticize his height and weight. all the talking heads are doing it.

if you aren't the prototypical size for the position you are supposed to play you can't be all that good.

Uh... John Abraham lines up at RE most of the time. Thanks for helping to make my point.

Elvis Dumervil has been fairly productive (including 12 sacks his 2nd year) and he is A LOT SMALLER than any other DE in the league at 5'11". Not to mention, he doesn't have anywhere near the explosion Brown does off the line.

Broncos play 3-4, Dumervil is listed as a LOLB

I'm not doubting his ability at RE, just LE. I don't really need to explain to you why the bigger guy needs to play LE, do I?

They just switched to a 3-4 though. He came into the league as a DE, and I believe he may have been playing it his first two years. If they started his transition to OLB last year, then that would explain his drop in sacks.

Merrill Hodge is pretty good. I remember when he kept calling Adrian Peterson, "The Cashier" (Cuz he will make you pay). And all the other guys thought the name was stupid and gave him weird looks and it never stuck and now he never calls him that anymore. That sh*t was funny.

    • Yeah they were bad QBs - but QB's that stayed on their teams for several years.  BY is better than all of those.
    • This is the right move even if you think Bryce isn't the future. Everything except signing him to a long term deal until proven otherwise. There's a decent chance we have a shot to draft a QB next year that we like.
    • If we're still bad enough that Canales gets fired, especially if it's during the season, there is no way we could ever attract any HC worthy of the job if we told them they had to keep Bryce their first year. That would be 2 coaches he's gotten fired and 4 years of not performing up to par. I still say replace both of them next offseason.  I like Canales the man and I think he's done an absolutely outstanding job at fixing our locker room issues, as it was really bad before he showed up.  But I just don't see it from him with his in game decision making, I think he's held us back just as much as Bryce has, just in different ways. Canales was our Dan Campbell, the coach you hire to turn the franchises culture around for the HC after them to inherit and take to the next level.   The difference was he had some elite coordinators early on and really let him focus on his "leader of men" role as opposed to the X's and O's that Canales does himself and it's turned out well for him.
