Do you think Cam's success had an impact on how people look at RG3?

Unlike most Panther fans who place their team on a very high pedestal despite having less than a handful of winning seasons in the entire history of the franchise. 5) I don't believe its sad at all. I'm loyal and i don't jump teams when the going gets tough or when a new thing comes along. 6) I'd put a bullet in my head 1st. Say what you will about the Redskins but at least we've actually accomplished something in this league. You are no different regarding the Skins than we are regarding the Panthers. The only difference is that you feel the need to troll the Panthers board, when we could give a fug about the Skins board.

BTW, who exactly said that the Redskins drafted RG3 because of Cam? That's not even really what the thread is about, like I said earlier. The Redskins mortgaged the house because they believe in RG3. Do I think it was more risky on their part than the Carolina picking Cam on the Panthers' part? Yes (which I know is especially easy to say in retrospect). Do I believe that they had thoughts of Cam when making their decision (right or not, not only from a football perspective, but a political perspective, if not just a human perspective)? Yes, I do. Do I think that RG3 (or anyone else for that matter) is the next Cam Newton? No. Do I think that RG3 > Cam, ever was, or ever will be? Hell no. And that's what you hate.

I think the answer is yes.It showed that a qb that has great running ability can also be disciplined enough to stay in the pocket and throw. It seems like qb styles as other aspects of the NFL run in cycles.I will be the 1st to admit that my concern with drafting Cam was that ability and discipline to stay in the pocket and display the same confidence in his passing ability as he does with the run.He has surpassed all my expectations.Cam has shown he can make some incredible passes but the next level is his consistency and reducing his pics coupled with reducing some of the hits he took passing in the backfield by getting rid of the ball.For the most part he protects himself during the run.

I think the whole idea of being a fan is to put your team on a pedestal.As far as your team the redskins they have an accomplished history until you got that prick of an owner.I am just curious as why you spend so much time on a Panthers message board?

Because i follow the Panthers, they are the local team in fact. There are a lot of local teams that i follow both in college, pros and even highschool.

From a physical skillset comparison: (these comparison are never as accurate as a full assessment but none the less....)

Cam reminds me of Joe Flacco (arm talent) + a running ability we've never seen before at the QB position (TE size + running back skills)

Griffin reminds me of Sam Bradford (arm talent) + Randall Cunningham running ability (if you don't remember Randall Cunningham google/youtube him) think Mike Vick with less explosiveness/quickness but more fluid/smooth

IMO, I believe you underestimate Cam, and overestimate Griffin. Not by much mind you, on both counts. I just think Cam will match any QB as regards "arm talent". Not that Joey is a slouch mind you. I have never seen a QB do what Cam does. Never thought I would see a QB having this much fun, all the while, making the job look so damm easy. We have front row seats for destiny up in these here parts. And that thought get my giddy going. I think Joey is underrated myself. I just have to believe Cam is in a brand new category.

That Bradford dude can flat out throw the ball. He is in his third year, think Stafford, so this could be his year. I am iffy on Griffin's ability to make all the deeper throws. It is almost like he looses his touch at about 35 yards. If RG can match Sam, or even outplay him, then the skins got themselves a QB. So I believe you hit this one on the head.

Other than that, I think you got as close as anyone so far. Nice job. Gave me something to work from anyway.
