Maybe Pau Gasol?

"NBA rumors are just fantastic.  This latest batch involves the Charlotte Bobcats, who just pulled off a trade to bring Ben Gordon and a pick into town.  This one has the Bobcats probably trading the second pick in the draft.  No one knows what they will trade for at this time.

For the life of me, I can not understand what the Bobcats are doing.  I have had them pegged to draft Thomas Robinson, but I guess they are going for some weird thing where they aren’t rebuilding but they aren’t contending.  Adding Gordon’s money, even with a pick, is not smart.  Why would you not let the contract of Corey Maggette expire and save cap space?

This is just another day in the life of the Bobcats.  They make moves that people have no idea what they could be about.  Are they trying to trade the second pick for more picks?  Are looking for a more established veteran to join the team?  Lots of options out there, but I would keep my eye on Pau Gasol.  He could be moved and he might help the Bobcats not suck next year.

There will certainly be more NBA rumors popping up in the next 24 to 36 hours.  The draft is coming soon and teams are trying to set themselves up.  The Bobcats seem to have made the most moves, but no one knows what they are doing.  They could regret trading the second pick."

Schmitt is clearly clueless.

There are "rumors" that the Lakers are talking to the Wizards about #3. My question is, would the Lakers ship Gasol for #3 & Blatche and draft Thomas Robinson, or would they pick up a Barnes or Gilchrist? They have Kobe, seems like Gilchrist or Robinson would make more sense. If they keep World Peace, then Robinson makes the most.

And would the Wizards even do that? They don't seem interested in a big man.

What doesnt make sense about this? The fact that we added ONE more year of salary? First, we hear about how free agents wouldnt want to come here and then you hear this. Some people will just always look at our organization as a bad one until we prove otherwise.

This was a good trade.

We would take an extra year of salary because it got us a better player, a first round pick, and we have to reach the salary floor anyway. I would imagine this cat doesn't know much about the NBA if he thinks we should trade the 2nd pick in the draft just so we aren't horrible. We blew up the roster to avoid mediocrity. Weak all around, take a lap.

What a retard. Cho has said from day one, the rebuilding plan is about acquiring assets. We got two over one. We needed a proven outside shooter, we got another first rounder, and it ultimately will likely end up being a one-year deal Ben Gordon plays on anyway.

Even if it isn't, his contract expires with Carrolls and Diops, so that year we will have all the cap space in the world. And again, we need Gordon more than Maggette. It was an A+ trade.

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
