Mike Williams released

OK let me say it this way so your super intelligent mind can comprehend it. We won't sign a veteran WR for camp. UNLESS someone goes down in camp. If we do, it will be a mid-level player just like we did last year. I said this last year and everyone but a few jumped on me like white on rice about how I knew nothing.

My "I am right attitude" comes from your insulting comments implying I know nothing. So please forego the "I was only stating my opinion" attitude. You like the majority of other posters when disagreeing with a post. Insult and follow-up with your weak opinion.

So we are clear. You basically want to bring in a Veteran WR to compete. Of course we have to cut a promising young player that will probably pick up with another team and in couple of years do well for another team. While the Veteran MIGHT put up some decent numbers our other WRs progress is slowed. Good Idea.

Glad you aren't the GM.

I was 100% right last year and I was be majorly surprised if we sign someone like Williams. Williams is a BUST let someone else take him.

Are you fuging kidding me?

YOU are the one whose posts have insulting undertones of a personal nature.. I am simply discussing philosophy. I never implied anything to you, about you, or about anyone else. Your misdirected responses, apparent sensitivity, and obvious inability to understand that another person's point of view and/or perspective about certain aspects of a football team are not to be taken as an insult belies your obvious lack of maturity.

There's nothing intelligent about writing multiple paragraphs on the aspect of MIKE WILLIAMS bringing something to the Carolina Panthers when we already have Greg Hardy gaining weight on the d-line.

And if you're calling St. Pierre as Gettis's "opportunity," then wow.

You do know that this is a message board about the Panthers, right?

Not sure how this relates to my post. I'm ridiculing the fact you believe Mike Williams is both a viable option for a roster spot and that LaFell and Gettis have already received enough chances to be the #2 guy.

You're saying that this is a Panthers forum in response to that? What does that even mean? Are you trying to role play the beginning of Flowers for Algernon or something? Because that's borderline retarded.

My point is that there is a thread discussing Mike Williams. I don't give a poo if you ridicule the idea of Williams as a Panther or not. It's just a discussion. No need for ridicule. If you don't want to enter the discussion, then you don't have to view the thread. This is not a competition, it's a discussion. In the grand scheme of things none of it matters because Huddlers don't make personnel decisions. Furthermore, I believe that Gettis and LaFell are obviously going to get their chance to evolve into what we need. Where I apparently disagree is that I don't think the evolution of Gettis and/or LaFell is hurt by giving a guy a look (or, God forbid, sign him), especially before the season even starts and final cuts are made.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
