Linsanity likely coming to Houston

Houston are worst than us on paper now. They may end up with the no.1 pick next year seriously. Only player they have left is Kevin Martin and they still wanna trade him in package deal for DHoward.

Should've kept their group of core guys and add Lin into the mix. Could've been a real good team, not great but real good.

Letting Lin leave a big market like N.Y. is a big mistake for the NBA. I'm surprised Stern isn't forcing the Knicks to match the offer sheet from the Rockets.

He'll probably call in at the last minute and force Houston to pay all of Lin's contract and send him back to NY but still lose Felton and get a 2nd round pick in return.

The city of Houston has a big asian population and the Rockets have a big asian following overseas due to Yao Ming coming over in the early 2000's. Acquiring Lin is a strategic move on their front office's part to fill the void that Ming left when he retired a few years ago.

Meh, Lin is a decent PG and I have no problem with the first couple years of that contract, but when his number jumps up to 14.3 million, it's a little high. If I was the Knicks, I wouldn't match either. That's a ridiculous number

The knicks would have made all that money back and then some just on the marketing. Plus, he was probably the most exciting thing to happen to their team in 10 years.

Its not like the knicks are going to do anything with their non-existent cap space for the next few years, or they are suddenly contenders now with Felton and Kidd. I dont know, I probably would have brought him back even if he was a little overpaid

and now this dude JR Smith is complaining. Dude, Lin was there before you were even with the Knicks. Shut up with all this racism. Just bc Lin is Asian, all these people are going to complain. Melo's contract is ridiculous, if he wanna talk about ridiculous. And this JR smith dude needs to shutup and go play in China.

    • I would say that he's pulling things out of his ass to get people to visit his site.
    • Yep. I was hoping for and calling for a day three guy. But I didn’t research the position to say if we should or should‘t have jumped at a particular guy at a particular spot.    And everything I read said it was a poor draft for RBs depth wise. I guess when Seattle takes a backup RB in the 1st, that kind of backs that up.    I definitely think we should keep 4 running backs and if King can play well enough then keep him too.    I believe I heard Canales say we are a running team (talking about drafting a WR he will be needing to block as well as catch). Well if we are gonna be a running team by identity we don’t need to stock the WR room to overflowing. If one room has to sacrifice, it should not be the RB room given our circumstances.
    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
