Pats lose rookie OLB

What ESPN doesn't know is that McKenzie would have been playing ILB for the Pats (and likely not starting anyway), not OLB . He isn't tall enough to be an OLB in their system. They like the big framed 6'3"-6'6" type guys @ OLB. AD is the shortest guy I ever remember @ OLB (6'2") for them but he is bulkier than this guy by about 30 lbs, and he plays other positions besides OLB, including ILB. This probably makes it more likely they sign JT so they can leave Guyton inside, not get a totally inexperienced guy like Pep.

The draft is over - I wouldn't take draft picks now until the season is over. If they want to trade a pick and a replacement...

What? Why? We just drafted Everette Brown who could step in and replace him not to mention we traded a first round pick next year. This draft SUCKED at the top of the draft IMO. Next year's draft has potential to be loaded at key positions. If we had a first and an extra second and third we could do some serious damage. Building a team is a process and to turn down draft picks simply because this years draft is over would be a mistake IMO.

Who would we want from the Pats to replace Peppers anyways??? They play a 3-4 and don't have a hybrid that could excel at the 4-3 DE position.

taking players wouldn't be a smart move. trade the guy who's had his best years here in carolina for picks in next years draft and stock up on young talent. beason is out playing pep now which is why the crybaby wants to be traded. he's no longer the leader of the defense.

i think a 1 and 2 would be a fair deal or a 1 and couple of 3's.

    • Yet here you are.
    • Caleb Williams has more passing yards in 7 attempts than our QB did in 4 quarters.
    • Was just looking at the box score and now realizing it goes even further than the red zone usage. On the first drive of the game, T-Mac was targeted 3 times, Brycen twice, and Renfrow once. Which means for the remainder of the game, Bryce only had 9 targets to his WRs.   And yes, I get it, we won by 30 in a shutout, but it's not like the game was a blowout the whole time where we were just running it to preserve the lead.  But just like I felt all throughout 2015, we might have been winning games, but it was in spite of the coaching staff that season, not because of them.  They made soooooo many play calls and game plans that made no sense and the players seemed to constantly bail them out, and it was frustrating when fans would get upset at asking these questions just because we were winning. It's also not like we have a clear cut long term franchise QB solution, we had 17 games (and now just 14 more) to prove Bryce can either be the guy or not be the guy, so even in games like this, we need to be throwing it more and throwing it downfield more to see what he can be. I said all off-season, we're not contenders this year, winning or losing doesn't matter to me, it's about finding out if Bryce should be our long term guy or if we should move on after this year.  Games like this are nice for the win, but they hurt our ability to evaluate him properly.
