Carolina Panthers' WR No.9 Jared Green

Smith, Lafell, Murphy, and Adams are locks.

Pilares, Gettis, Tutu, and Green have a good shot. Out of these 4, Pilares and Gettis are the 2 that I can't see us cutting. However, Green and Tutu have impressed everyone.

AE and Darvin shouldn't make it, although I wouldn't be shocked if AE is on the squad.

I can't see us keeping 8 (7 might be a stretch). It's going to be tough and I'm glad I don't have to make the decision.

Smith, LaFell, Gettis, Murphy, J. Adams, and Pilares are all locks. Don't be stupid. That will be our group of receivers. If we keep 7 and get rid of Hartstock or Brockel or somebody like that then we may see Green or that big 6'6 dude that makes crazy catches.

I just don't think Green is all that and he honestly would not be getting this attention if it wasn't for his dad.

Oh and Armanti should already be packing his bag. There is 0% chance that he makes the team.

Jared Green making or not making the team has nothing to do with him being an UDFA. You can't inflate Green's chances of making the team this year because of Bell making the team last year, or cite players like James Harrison making it in the NFL...WR this year is a pretty deep position. Last year we had almost no healthy depth at the tackle position, so of course Bell had a much better chance of making the team.

The odds are stacked against Green making the team just because we've invested a bunch of draft picks in recent years to WRs (Lafell, Gettis, Adams, Pilares, and Edwards). Those guys likely aren't getting cut this early in their careers unless it's character-related (aside from probably Edwards...since he is the only one, aside from the rookie Adams, who hasn't shown the ability to contribute on the field thus far). If the Panthers decide to keep 7 WRs on the roster, then I think Green has a good chance...otherwise it'd be pretty shocking (to me at least) if Green makes the team.

I think that Rivera is from the old school. Old school men don't give a damn about keeping up appearances. If Green takes advantages of his opportunity, and stands out above the receivers who are not locks to make the team (which I feel that only four are true locks), then he will make the final cut. I am not saying that he will, but I am saying that Green is gonna get a valid shot, just like all the other question marks.

Moreover, if Green is all that and a bag of potato chips during camp and the preseason games, the Panthers will have to decide whether they want him irrespective of the practice squad, because he will be snapped up by some other squad.

we'll waive him and hope he gets on the practice squad

between smitty, lafell, gettis, murphy, pilares, and joe adams... there just isn't room.

darvin adams and jared green can get stashed on the PS. tutu and armanti are probably done with the team.
