Rivera says younger players on team could have tackled better. He'll watch tape to see how they can improve.

Jonathan Jones‏@jjones9

Rivera said Medlocks short kickoff that led to a TD was the biggest disappointment of the night.

Rivera says many players had a chance to show tonight, but didn't. Coach is definitely disappointed in how team performed tonight.

Newton says coach's message to him after game: "He wasn't happy." Newton says play lacked effort & was lethargic. Says team has to respond.

1. Cam sucked last preseason. Don't think he brings it until it matters.

2. I think some of these guys were lulled to sleep by all of the hype they're hearing about themselves. Hype doesn't always make you play "harder".

I think it was just a preseason game and everyone's fumbling around trying to figure out what this strange new game called "football" is all about.

Hell, the Broncos smashed the Bears 31-3. . .and that was with Peyton Manning throwing a pick and then sitting down after like four plays. It's all chaos right now.

If we're still play like this by the third preseason game then I'll start getting worried.Otherwise, it's all a crapshoot right now.

Prophet. Do you have the same sig picture from the front?

With that out of the way, I agree with FP and those of you that are using logic. It's the PRESEAON.

I hope Chico climbs their asses for a day and a half. But it's preseason so 2 full days will not be necessary.

What we should ALL be worried about is the replacement Ref fiasco. THAT is the only thing that I saw that is unacceptable.

    • Here is what I heard and I should know--when you all were dating, I was studying how coaches communicate to reporters.  Who's laughing now? First, what we know:  He does not have any serious talks (that we know of) to extend him at this point.   Second, Canales says that we do not need to be changing things just to change them.  I thought that was an interesting statement. Why would a QB do that?  What is the reason?   In that answer, you find the source of DC's frustration. Finally, the reality of Bryce has to be setting in.  Bryce's agent is likely contacting Dan Morgan about the fifth year or second contract.  For Bryce to be effective, is he really going to need an elite TE, a $100m offensive line, two thousand-yard rushers, a stable full of WRs, and a defense that keeps him from playing from behind (making him one dimensional and a thrower?)   If Bryce wants $50m, we simply can't afford the supporting cast.
    • I believe the same of you. You're making a simplistic argument for something that is obviously more complex. Everyone wants Bryce to thrive on the field, and everyone loves Bryce the person, and it's not really saying anything that a coach has real or unrealistic expectations, but everyone also knows that Bryce is going to have to do much more than he has done in 2026. That's the simple crux of the matter.
