Being dumb and getting a degree is a lot different than having independent study classes with an enrollment of 1 just so the player can maintain eligibility.

Especially when those shell classes are the only things keeping them eligible.

Again my friends who are lawyers, doctors, and dentists are pissed about this. People who are just fans of the sports programs and have nothing invested in the university have no issue with this.

My point is that this is not a new practice or confined to just UNC. Does it damage the reputation of the school? Yes. Does it challenge the notion of academic integrity? Yes. Like I said before this is as common as paying college players while in school. It runs rampant, there is too much money on the line for school not to cater to, protect and fabricate for the top talent.

The entire NCAA system is a farce and disgrace. These athletes get into schools they don't qualify for and need "help" to stay eligible. I really don't care who gets caught because they all do it. When winning in Football/Basketball became a multimillion (then multibillion) dollar business integrity went out the window. These guys go to college to learn football, not history and math.

Do you actually want to make the assertion that Chris Washburn earned the grades that kept him academically eligible at NCSU? That guy make Peppers look like a member of a think tank.
