Bubonic Plague in Colorado

The reasons why the plague killed so many is not its complexity, while it is at the top of disease control's list for illness most likely used in biological warfare, the mass amounts of death were actually due to religion. People wanted to believe it was some form of wrath from god and came up with all kinds of bullshit, none that approached the disease from a medical/scientific standpoint. Instead people got away from the 'tainted' sinners and that is why no one really knew what it was until it just killed what it could and then left. Only by the end of the black death era did medical professors start looking into it from another standpoint, not because it had just come to them but law and society allowed them to, both were intertwined tightly with religion at the time, forget about trying to convince people/officials in helping you study a condition using science when the reaons for it were clearly religious.

Don't get me wrong the blubonic plague that gets in the lungs is a very deadly disease, but I don't think a second black death is probable.
