Green Bay lost their first game, as did the defending SB champs, wonder if their fans are calling for a fire sell like the idiots running around this place

That is because they are GB and the Gaints, proven winners over the last six years. We have one winning season in that time period. But here we come playoffs.

no, because their teams have actually proven they can rebound and deliver, while we haven't.

kind of silly to compare us to them in any regard. I guess browns fans are also consoling themselves with logic like this. Then again, they're not as severely allergic to cognitive dissonance as panther fans are.

Plus the small fact that Green Bay lost a squeaker to a power house. We got our dick pushed in the dirt by Tampa Bay.

The O-line really was pathetic. They deserve to be ragged on. What a joke! I don't think any of them deserve to play in the NFL at this point. Newton was running for his life way too much. And with no running game, that goes on the O-line too. I hope Cam rips them all a new one, they deserve it.

The Defense sucked in the first half but I though came out and did a decent job in the second. Panthers still could have won it and had the momentum up until Cam threw an interception. Should have thrown it away (although looking at the replay, it looked like interference to me).

WRs looked good to me. Smitty great as usual. Liked what Lafell did. And was impressed with Murphy on a few plays. Can't leave out Olsen, glad he's on our team cause he is CLUTCH.

O-LINE SUCKS!

All linebackers sans Keuchly had a solid game. It was neat to see Davis make those back to back plays. Beason and Anderson looked good.

There are no works for how bad both OGs played.

Steve Smith looked very good. LaFell had a decent game but dropped a big one.

Cam had a bad game. Half of that was because LOL offensive line. He still seemed to play rattled and uncomfortable for most of the game, holding on to the ball way too long and was forcing things all over.

Rivera needs to take a class or something on clock management. He was horrible at it last year and that seems to have carried over.

Joe Adams did the impossible and made me yearn for Armanti Edwards. I formally apologize for ranting and he should be the starting PR until Adams cures his dropsies.

you mean the laser rocket pass roughly 20 yards away where he had a 10th of a second to react?

Cam definitely looked good. One INT was a tipped pass, that honestly should have been a pass interference, LaFell got mauled. The 2nd INT is a play that's going to happen in the NFL. Nice pass to the outside, but a guy just jumped the route, happens. Our QB situation is the best it's ever been. Cam is a monster, and is growing. He could be Aaron Rodgers elite by the end of the next season.

D'wan(?) Edwards played a pretty sweet game. Could've/should've gotten credit for two sacks, at least half of them.

Murphy is an absolute monster. Honestly, I think Murphy makes David Gettis irrelevant. Same style of player, but Murphy has familiarity with Cam, and has more experience playing in real games.

Where was Kuechly? It was pointed out by @JoshNorris on Twitter that Kuechly was on the sideline for a series, and then came back in. Did he get banged up? I'm not sure.

Amini got beat like a freakin' rug. Seriously. He looked absolutely lost when McCoy was doing his twists and stunts. Fix nao? kthx.

Overall, I think it was a decent game for us like the OP said. The Bucs had something they wanted to prove, especially after the game last year where Cam ran roughshod all over them. I know morale victories suuuuuuuuck, but that's what this game was.

Hell, I'm even impressed with the adjustments McD made at the half.

Also: Brian Murphy sucks.

Is it time for panic? During training camp, it's hey: it's only training camp, wait till Preseason. During Preseason, it's hey: it's only Preseason, wait till regular season. After the 1st game of the regular season, it's hey: it's only the 1st game of the regular season, wait til.........................The time for concern and alarm is now. We were just outplayed by the Bucs, the Bucs!

For those of us who don't think the world is ending after a 6-point loss on the road.

My thoughts:

- Clearly we got beat in the 1st half today. Had we had even a mediocre 1st half we'd have won, IMO. The Bucs simply came out with a gameplan we had no way or preparing for and it took us too long to adjust.

- Our running game is slow to start off every season and we always rebound. No need to panic.

- Cam looked good. 2 INT's, yes, but we were in comeback mode pretty much all game so that's to be expected. Overall, he showed well, especially under heavy pressure.

- Is it time to seriously consider starting Mike Pollak over Geoff Hangartner? Amini looked bad at times, sure, but he's a rookie in his first game. Hangartner is a veteran.

- I saw a lot we can build on from the defense. Josh Norman looked solid in a very tough matchup on Vincent Jackson, even if he gave up a few plays, overall it was a good debut. Martin had 100 yards rushing, but it took like 30 carries. 3rd down needs some work, but overall a fairly big improvement on last year.

- Ron & Dwan looked solid enough for their first game. Once they develop some familiarity with each other we should be solid in the middle.

- Probably the most disappointing thing today was Luke Kuechly's play. I have no doubt he'll rebound, but I expected a lot better from him.

- Brad Nortman looks good. You know, when he's not getting blocked.

- Louis Murphy is a steal for what we gave up for him. He'll be a big-time weapon for us this year.

- Overall, we were obviously taken off guard by the Bucs without having any game tape to gameplan around, particularly on defense early. I feel like we'll be alright in the long run this year. The sky certainly isn't falling. This game reminded me a lot of the 2005 opener, another close loss in an overall good season for us.

You could tell today was getting rid of the Winter rust day. Look at how many QB racked up Ints today.

Anyway, this game should have been more of a defensive game. It's clear the Bucs defense had an answer for Cam but the Panthers defense just took Josh Freeman for granted.

It's at least a positive sign that we started off shaky and improved in the 2nd half rather than starting off hot and sizzling out (like we did a ton last year). I like that our team can actually adjust the gameplan in the 2nd half.

I just hate Cam's decision-making sometimes...not so much on the throws, but when he scrambles out of the pocket and gets run out of bounds for a "sack" instead of throwing the ball away. He did that at least a few times last season and he did it once again in this game when we were right around field goal range. There's absolutely no reason to take a loss of yards when there's no risk of intentional grounding.

I must be thinking of another one.. I saw it go through his hands before he even had time to react.. I'll go back and check to be sure.

It was the 2nd -> forever down near the goal line. Martz (I hate that guy) was harping on it.

If I'm wrong and it didn't hit his hands, then apologies.

I'm thinking of another play.. and UVerse decided to fug the sound up so I turned those clowns off very early on..

I record most games just so I can go back to see what I missed.. I'll keep an eye on that.
