Everyone has to post a pessimistic or optimistic thread after these sort of games, so here's mine.

Our defense looked much better than expected. Dwan Edwards was solid and so far looks like he was the missing piece on that defensive line.

The special teams did a great job and they're our weakest unit. Besides the blocked punt, I thought they played way better than they have in recent games

Our best player was probably our worst player today. Which is kind of a good thing. I don't know what was wrong with him, but that wasn't Supercam. I was surprised when I got home to learn he had 300 yards.

Definitely don't panic yet. We already have a statement game next week, though. We need to start out at home with a win, especially over the Saints*. This team definitely wasn't as prepared as I thought, but I have confidence in Ron to get them fired up for next week.

I don't want to start a whole thread, but I just want to give credit to Tampa Bay. They are not the same team as last year (obviously) and played inspired football today. Looks like their coach will work out. The NFC South just might be in the running for toughest division this year.

In other news, at this rate we won't ever have to worry about Chud leaving for a head coaching job!

Tampa Bay is definitely improved, but so are we. I'm confident we'll beat them at home.

The NFC is definitely my choice for toughest division in football.

Shows what I know about football. I had the Falcons and Bucs both losing this week and on the flip side had the Panthers and Saints* being 1-0. The division will be tough this year. Either the Panthers or Saints* will right the ship next week but the odd man out will be 0-2. I am really hoping we get things on track next week.

You're crazy if you think Cam was our worst player. It's not easy to make anything happen when you have 5 guys in your face as soon as you get the ball. Oline played really terrible. Silatolu was probably the worst player of the game. But yes this is one game and there were a lot of positives. I think we will have a decent season. We may be a season or 2 away from being a great team, but we will be great soon and it is going to be awesome.

We really can't afford to go 0-2....especially in the division

The Bucs play the Giants up in New York next week.. It's hard to see the defending champs go down 0-2.

The Falcons play the Broncos at home.. after seeing Manning lats night is nearly back to the Manning we all know, that's a loseable game for the Falcons.

And finally, if the Panthers beats the Saints* next week, we could be tied for 1st in our division next week.. let's not all jump off a bridge yet.
