the one thing that irks me about this loss...

I don't get this sideline presence, he looks fine for me. I mean for every Harbaugh and Gruden there is the Mike Singleterry and Denis Green. I think Ron will be fine. Lets just see if the team can rebound. A coach should get atleast 3 years. Remember, Belichick sucked his first coaching job... bet the Browns wished they would have waited him out.

I'm no homer. I get more hate than anyone on this forum bc Im clearly less of a homer than everyone else.

Tell me who Denver have after Manning, Dumervil, Clady and Von Miller. No one.

We have far more talents than Denver. Ask anyone.

Um, Champ Bailey? Since when is he a no one?

Champ also plays in a secondary with Porter, Leonard, etc. There secondary is better.

He didn't have the video technology back then that he's had in the Patriots years.

Not that you deserve a response because no one outside of Panthers fans know anyone on our team except Smith and Newton but:

Clady, Thomas, MgGahee, Bailey, Porter(pick 6 yesterday and in the SB for the Saints**) just off the top of my head.

Yea and I guess they're better than Gross, Smitty, Dwill/Stew/Tolbert, Gamble?

After that we have: Beason, Anderson, CJ, Olsen, Kalil, the Edwards, and Godfrey

A lot of peopled killed Carolina-Chuck for this, but I can't help but to think he has a point, when he talked about Lafell not being a true #2 WR.

Yeah he catches everything thrown his way, but I'm starting to wonder does he get opened enough. Cam held on to the ball an awful lot yesterday, and it makes me question whether guys were getting opened down field. Just take the emotions out an think about it.

Peyton Manning carries a lot of weight....for example he will turn Thomas into a Pro Bowl WR this year. Thomas has tons of talent....now has a QB.

Peyton, Clady, Champ, Miller > our top 4.

Our RB depth doesn't carry that much weight since they a subbing for each other for the most part. All are very good RBs but the overlap they have dimishes it.

This is why we need to draft an elite receiver next year, it's working out for the falcons.

I wanna see once that Rivera can show that he can come back from under a game and win. He never once showed he can do that. Great coaches can win in any ways.

Foxy, remember that 49ers game. Being down 28 first half and came back and won in fashion. Yeah!

I believe he will do it, and soon. We get to down after one bad loss, but there is a whole season left, and I believe we will figure it out as the season goes on.

I'm telling you. I'm a much better spectator than a lot of people on here. And I get a lot of trash for speaking the truth on my own team. I'm no homer!

People watching only sees the great catches made by Lafell but they never wonder why the kid always go invisible after making a great catch. If hes that great, he should be a constant threat for example in that Bucs game last year. He made the amazing 91 yds catch and after that he completely disappear.

    • Sure it does, maybe not every position and not every draft.  You have to admit the hit rate goes down the further in the draft you get.  Would you more readily find a generational talent at the #2 pick or #19 pick?  High picks are considered "busts" if they doesn't pan out, whereas guys drafted later don't have that level of scrutiny upon them.  Different expectation levels.  If Styles does indeed go #2, I already listed the rarefied air that he would be in.  Maybe he doesn't set the League on fire, but my gut feeling is he does.  Again, you don't take an off-ball LB #2 if he is just a 'really good' player.
    • To illustrate my point, I watched (and commented on the Huddle) that Rozeboom would often wait a full second (or close to it) before taking his first step.  I assume that he probably had issues with false steps, a faulty practice that can take an ILB out of the gap completely.  Watch Luke and you see a step with the snap, and rarely was it a false step.  Rozeboom may have had 100 tackles (speculating) but initial contact was 2-3 yards on the defensive side of the ball.  Luke's 100 tackles were made 1-2 yards from the LOS.  Over the course of a year, Luke was much more productive (more fumbles, fewer long gainers, more OL penalties, fewer first downs, etc) that Rozeboom, but on the stat sheet, they both had 100 tackles.  In fact, Rozeboom's inefficiency kept him on the field more (more first downs, fewer OL penalties, turnovers, and punts) so he should have MORE tackles.   I would like to see stats that break down those things.   For example again, Josh Norman was slow--4.68 or so at CB.  However, his anticipation speed was incredible.  He made as many plays as a 4.4 CB.  I had one coach (college--later became the head coach at WCU) tell me that slower players have to use their brains more to still be around.  Elite athletes can just get by on their physical superiority.  He added, "Rarely does a football player run full speed.  Most of the time, they are not, so the 40 time is misleading stat.  Smart players overcome shortcomings--when the elite athlete becomes average (slows with age, advances in level of competition) they struggle against smarter (football IQ) competition.
    • Obviously tongue in cheek hyperbole. But we do not need a first round RB to competete for a championship. We need intelligent roster building. That to me is the complete opposite of intelligent roster building because it is a prime resource at a devalued plug and play position when we have needs across the defense.
