Gangham Style

I think it's a catchy tune but he's merely a walking stereotype. He represents what people expect to see of an Oriental (remember William Hung?). Japanese pop is much better, imo. Still, anything is better than current American pop music, so I wish him much success.

Also worth noting, a Japanese singer topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963. This is clearly more impressive since he didn't have the internet as a medium to spread his song.

I'm learning the dance for the sole purpose of embarrassing my daughter. I've been practicing for a week.

The Oregon duck parody and the dude with his mom dancing are pretty good.

Finished learning it last night .. do it everytime I win a game with friends as a celebration. The only tricky part was the hand on the hip leg side lift deal.

PSY is the opposite of a walking stereotype. K-pop is youth obsessed, focused on style and thinness and production, and he is a mid-thirties chubby guy. That's why he got popular there, because he's the opposite of Girls Generation. Even the song itself is a critique/satire of Gangnam style, which is that upper class perfection that permeates their culture.

Why the song caught on in the US I don't know, but that's the novelty of him there. Bucking the stereotype.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
