If you could start all over with defense and special teams....

Keep all the players. Fire the two coaches.

Special teams wise the coach can't be blamed for Adams fumble problems.

This roster has talent and with a better head coach things would be different. Rivera has plenty of time to turn this thing around but his excuses from last year are gone. I really hope he does but nothing from last night inspired me to reasonably think that he will.

I tried to warn you guys about Adams before the season started. While not the biggest cause of our troubles - his fumbling can and will become a major problem. You CANNOT use a return man in the NFL unless you can trust them to hold onto the ball. Don't be surprised to see AE returning punts next week.

I'll be surprised if he Armanti is not returning punts. While he is no homerun threat, Id rather have him than butterfingers out there.

I would go with a 3-4 base defense. Keep our strength on the field with 4 very good linebackers. Keep Hardy, edwards and johnson as the d-line.

We are getting 0 pass rush and getting our secondary blown the f up. Why not make thomas davis and kuechly our guys to make some pass rush? our d-ends are getting whooped as it is.

Cut joe adams and put pilares back there. Dude ran a kickoff back for a td last year.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
