How would you handle Cam?

Can't say for sure because I don't know the details of how he handles himself in the club house and locker room. Nor in the huddle for that matter.

All we see is what the cameras show us, and while it may not be what we want to see, well whatever.

I don't get all into this sitting by himself, towel over the head stuff. Don't understand it, but don't really care either.

Some of the stuff that Cam does is the same stuff that Jay Cutler does and has done since he came into the league. Jay like Cam has been criticized from day 1 about it too. Cam needs to understand that he is constantly under the microscope on the sidelines, and needs to act accordingly.

Just to note...he's pretty direct and to the point in the huddle. He stretches outside it more of the time, gets the play...goes in calls it, clap clap clap clap clap snap

lol bench him for showing his emotion..smfh.

If I were a coach, a grown man of 40+ years and I had to help a 23 year old kid learn to mature, I'd take the active step and call him over to go over strategy or stand beside me and point out things that's going on in the game. Obviously Rivera can't do that, he's busy coaching the game. Chud can't, he's upstairs calling the plays. Who's next? In most cases, it should be DA and/or the QB coach.

And this is basically what Smitty did, except in a Smitty way...

Hate to break it to you, but not all emotions should be shown. That is what makes someone a leader or not. Not wearing your heart on your tear stained sleave when the chips are down.

There are different types of leaders, I don't like the moping kind, I prefer some fire.

Manning 1 and Brady are leaders because of their work ethic first in last out type thing, and also get up in their teammates asses every now and again.

Manning 2 is cool and collected and does not seem to get rattled.

Rivers' teammates will walk through fire for him as they know he hates to lose and you can tell it on the sidelines, and he never throws them under the bus.

Everybody is different, Cam will mature and will be a good leader, he just has to find his way.

yeah Cutler is someone you want your franchise quarterback to be, model himself like isnt he?

No, not at all, just making an observation.

Just saying that Cam is not alone in the way that he deals with losing.

I like Manning 1 and Rivers personally, although Peyton will throw others under the bus from time to time.

It's hard to say what Cam responds to.

I wonder why we've regressed to a completely college offense this year. I thought with a full off season in the film room Cam would be better at reading defenses, calling audibles etc.

This decision to go with the read option as the base of our O is making me wonder if Cam is struggling with the learning curve. Or Maybe Chud is just a dumbass. Who knows.

I personally think Cam would do fine running a pro offense, but he's not been given the chance.

I'd say:

I feel your pain Cam. The defense can't tackle a pillow. The OC is trying to force your hand by limiting your playmaking skills. Marty Hurney has built a one-deep roster. There is no Panther home field advantage. I feel your pain.

Remember, for Cam they used the Auburn playbook last season, same thing the Redskins are doing with RG3 and the Baylor playbook, they are giving these young QBs the comfort zone of working within a system they know, and as we have seen so far with Cam this season, once the teama start breaking that comfort zone with their own playbooks you will see some regression. Damn, sounds very familiar, new systems, regression, hmmmm.

IF this is true, then shame on Rivera for messing Cam all up.

you throw him right back into the next game. cant get any better with practice and multiple mental reps. cam will be fine. speaking of leadership, where are the defensive leaders? i am tired of all this cam talk. he's got the offense. but he cant single handily win every game on his own when the defense allows the other offense to score on almost every drive. that's too much pressure for even the great quarterbacks of this league. we need to be talking about defensive leaders and who should get benched for trying to arm tackle a nobody RB!

The problem is that we have not broken from it. On the contrary, we are running more or it.

The zone read is now our base offense....and it does not work in the NFL. Similar to the Wildcat, these "gimmick" style offenses are only successful for short periods of time. The defenses figure it out and the speed in the NFL is too great.

Chud needs to get his head out of his ass and istall an NFL level offense...with wrinkles of the read option. The fact that he isn't is concerning to me. Either he is in over his head, or Cam still does not have the ability to get out of his read option comfort zone. don't know which, but both are issues.
