Can't believe people blame cam for not having game winning drives

There is no guarantee that he will grow into anything. Has Jay Cutler grown into being a leader? Did Vince Young? Matt Ryan had a C on his chest by year two. He also won football games, but that is a different story.

Matt Ryan has never proven to win anything when it matters. He is irrelevant in this discussion. Goodbye!

That's funny, when you consider all of the deflection that occurs on this board, regarding the Panther's inability to win football games. According to you guys, Cam isn't responsible for the losses. Yet, here you are, trying to pin playoff losses on a "young quarterback".

Matt Ryan>>>>Cam Newton.

Deal with it.

The same can be said for any young QB. And I still proclaim Cam is the biggest leader in our locker room right now. He deserves to be a team captain.

Thats true. Very few second year players are great leaders. Peyton Manning took a few years also.

To me, a sign of a great leader on the field is someone who show constant steady leadership. The highs are not too high, the lows are not too low. You take everything with a short memory and move on to the next play. Right now Cam is celebrating touchdowns like it is his first, and sitting by himself on a bench after an interception, not wanting to talk to anyone or review the play. He is all over the charts emotionally.

Players need to see a leader who is even keel and ready for anything that gets thrown our way.

Great players establish themselves as leaders early in their careers. I agree with everything else that you wrote.

Umm, do you have a reading comprehension problem? There is NO undisputed leader on the offense, that was the point.

Then why is Steve Smith here? Why is Jordan Gross here? If these guys are not our leaders, and we're expecting our 2nd year QB to be undisputed there is no need for those guys to be playing in Carolina in 2013. They are expendable. Was Flacco the undisputed leader of their team and offense in Baltimore his first years there? Hell no, but they won football games and were a playoff team. Carolina's issue is they want professional losers and not emotional leaders. We drafted conformed nice guys for 10 years and now its coming back to bite us in the ass.

Matt Ryan has played in 3 playoff games. He's no virgin, cut out the "young QB" excuse. Flacco has won playoff games and dominated teams in the playoffs, whats Matty's excuse?

Of course they are expendable. They are both on the downside of their career. I don't know if the team was expecting Cam to be the undisputed leader this year, although it would be the optimum goal considering his playing position. None of the offensive captains have stepped up to take the reigns as the leader that is deferred to. There are various alpha's but no true figure head on the offense at this point. You seem to realize this, so it makes it all the more baffling that you were arguing for Cam being the obvious leader of the offense.

I never said there wasnt room for growth or improvement on Cam's behalf. He has struggled and made mistakes. But all young QBs do, and if the honus of winning and losing is solely on his leadership, we need to give him more. Get him competent coaching, RUN A fuging PRO SET OFFENSE, more weapons on offense (WR, TE), more talent on defense, make him a team captain. Its INSANE to expect this guy to carry us and not expect the same of our leaders. You cant have it both ways.

And all that rah rah poo yall want. That comes in time with experience and more control. There's no way Cam can be this undisputed leader yall claim with the high priced vets we have on this team currently.
