Steve Smith vs Champ Bailey. Who wins?

I agree with Orange, I don't think that Champ's groin is in good enough shape to hang with Smith. Especially as shifty and precise Smith can be in running his routes, I don't know if he could hang with him, unless they want to play a lot of zone coverage.

I think Smith will abuse the hell out of Bly though.

My blind homerism says Smith. Champ is still a top 10 CB at least. But he's not so good nowadays that QB's won't even look his way.

Jake will throw at him, I bet you $100. lol

He always trusts his guy to win esp. if it is Smitty.

Had he thrown better passes vs Nnamdi, Smitty would have had a few.

Champ will be more aggresive than most for a jump ball in the air, but I still think Smitty's determination is unmatched.

Dude with a recently busted groin ain't gonna be outrebounding a guy like Smitty who got a huge vertical leap. Smitty gonna get his. Count on it! And if Bly is on him, it's all good.

Good point. Smith also blocks well, runs great routes and does a great job after the catch. I really think that he would do well against almost any CB if our QB could consistently thread the needle. We all know that Jake does not operate that way so some CB's have an advantage in tight coverage because of that.

Our boy smitty will deff win, im not so sure he got absolutely burned against Aso from Oakland hard to tell Jake had an awful day. Smitty will win though, why wouldnt he? Hes the best WR in the NFL.

Neither funny, nor intelligent.

What's funny is Steve Smith has averaged 57 receptions, 820 yards, and 5 touchdowns a year. OVERRATED. Do not ever again consider him the best wide receiver in the NFL.

    • Nope Still missing it. Let's try this a different way... You have two quarterbacks from schools that ran the same kind of offense - maybe even two from the same school - on a given team (not necessarily the Panthers). One is designated the starter while the other is named the backup. Why?
    • yeah, pretty sure boss.....when things match and fit in the NFL.....the results then show it.  and when they don't, well, the results show that as well.  Bryce doesn't fit.   *but I get why late season and wants to argue with everyone Mr. Scot has also turned into a please don't talk to me about stats guy as well.  Given, the stats that reflect offensive productivity work against all your present arguments.
    • Yeeeah...stats and rankings have zero to do with a discussion of scheme and skill set match. Maybe look up definitions of style vs ability and see if that helps. At this point, you've basically had three different people explain to you where you're wrong, but rather than addressing any of those statements, you're just resorting to straight deflection.  You don't get it. Either that or you're acting like you don't get it so that you can avoid the discussion because it's not going well for you. (that wouldn't surprise me either) 😄 Sme result either way, I suppose.
