2012 Los Angeles Lakers Thread

When you factor in how much more athletic Josh Smith is then Peko it's more impressive to me. Most of the sports outlets agreed last night. Not to mention Barnes is a rook with fresh legs. Kobe is a old man (by NBA terms), who has had multiple procedures done to his knees over the years....

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that 0% of people look back on the greatest dunks of all time and factor in how 'fresh' people's legs are.

Part of the reason the Kobe dunk is so sick is because at his age he can still elevate like that. Barnes is a 20 year old rookie who doesn't have 17 years of a grueling NBA schedule already behind him. Makes a huge difference whether you care to admit it or not.....

How fuging hard does Kobe Bryant have to be hit to get a foul call. Westbrook get's breathed on and it's a foul, but Bryant drives to the basket and has Ibaka jump right into his body and there's no whistle. Not the reason they're down (turnovers), but the officials in the NBA are fuging ridiculous....

Of course it would be Ibaka (who shouldn't even be on the floor tonight) with the likely dagger....gotta love the NBA where BULLS*** happens....

Again, is it no blood no foul when it's Bryant driving....

    • I think in all honestly, the final 2 games are carrying most of the weight in a lot of Bryce talk IMO.    During the window where he "blew it out of the water" window......were a lot of games where he was not above average.  AZ is largely one of those stat sheet games.   Where the stat sheet reflects QB play that didn't exist in the game.  That game was all Chuba.  Meh vs Dallas.  Meh vs Philly.  Meh vs Giants.  Probably average vs Tampa, Den, Saints.  Bryce made HUGE strides vs what he was.  We should be happy.   But when you start comparing him to the rest of the league.....people I think are going too far.  His best aspect in reality.....is his scrambling.  And that's probably not a great thing give his size.
    • Mays and Zavala looked lost in the Reich offense.  Granted Zalava was probably playing too soon due to injuries but he looked terrible.  This new staff seems to be doing well with our OL.  I also wonder if having two vets in Hunt and Lewis just made life that much easier on whoever was/is playing center.
    • What the Panthers should target in order (via free agency or via trade): 1. Julian Blackmon  2. Mike Hilton 3. Jaire Alexander 4. Jalen Ramsey
